themes.csv on nspire
« on: December 02, 2011, 05:46:44 pm »
Today my TI-Nspire computer software showed a file on my nspire called themes.csv in the documents folder and I have no idea where it came from. The software cant transfer it to my computer, and the calculator doesnt show it. Anybody know where this file came from?

yep, this is the content:

  eWindowTitleBarBackground,0xFFFFFF,0xFF0000
eWindowTitleBarForeground,0xFFFFFF,0xFF0000
eWindowTitleBarTextBackground,0xFFFFFF,0xFFFF00
eWindowTitleBarTextForeground,0x000000,0x00FF00

it seems quite obvious that it sets the background color and so, but you're not able to put it back to the calc again.
I changed it and send it back to my calc, but it gave an error, because it doesn't understand this filetype

From an old post by Critor on TI-Planet and here, it seemed like it was the theme file (for the window border and stuff). There were speculations about maybe TI eventually adding custom themes for the Nspire.

could something go wrong if i adapted the file in the OS, and then reinstall it? maybe then i could make my own custom styles xp or is it too risky?

I'm not sure if it's possible to do that yet. If I remember, this involves modifying the OS file, which, to be accepted by the calc afterward, requires the 2048 bits RSA keys.

Hmmm.... I wonder how to do this.....

you're welcome..
and DJ_O, i've tried to unzip the os, but it gives an error because of that themes.csv file, does that mean it is protected with a key?
