ti connect failing
« on: July 30, 2012, 10:47:23 pm »
So, I right click the file I want to send I select send to ti device but if I select my calculator ti connect crashes. I have tried multiple calculators, what can I do?

EDIT: after trying more, it seems to work if the hand held is connected before I start ticonnect

Try a RAM clear on your calc... also try rebooting your computer if it still isn't working.

The article squidgetx linked to is a good one. It's good to remember a couple of things:
1. Ti connect can be very pick and not work sometimes, but work fine later the same day.
2. Battery changes almost always fix the problem.

Before you go through any trouble shooting I'd just try again later perhaps after the computer has been rebooted. If that doesn't work try fresh batteries. If you still have no luck begin the trouble shooting process.

I'm assuming direct USB?

Anyways, I would guess that if you uninstall and reinstall ti-connect, it will work. If you are on a 32 bit machine, then you can completely uninstall ti-connect by following the instructions in that tutorial the squidgetx mentioned. Sometimes the drivers get a little screwy. (You can even uninstall the drivers on a 64 bit machine, but so far, I don't think any one has had any trouble with that.)

You can build a statue out of either 1'x1' blocks or 12'x12' blocks. The 1'x1' blocks will take a lot longer, but the final product is worth it.
