« on: September 29, 2013, 12:34:03 pm »
Hello everyone, great community you have here!

I recently purchased a TI nspire cx and I can't downgrade.
I just want to make sure there is no way to downgrade to 3.1

Calculator information:
Model: TI-nspire cx model J
Version: 3.2.4.1237
Boot1 code: 3.0.0.99
Boot2 code: 3.2.4.7

Thankyou for your time, James.

Yup, at the time of this writing, there's no way to downgrade to OS 3.1 on J hardware revision CX (CAS) calculators.

Ok, thanks!

Also is there any way of permanently bricking my nspire or can you always reset it?

Unfortunately for you, you have the J model. As of this time there hasn't been found a way to downgrade these models.
Edit: Thank you awesomely fast internet <_<

It depends. If he takes some audio device and connect it to the wrong pins in the connector, it can brick the calc, same with other stuff. If he ever messes with the serial dock connector then he gotta be really careful.

I dunno which are your intentions with OS 3.1, but if you would like to have a go on 'ndless applications', you can always try it using the available nspire emulators. ;)
