TILP for Nspire CX
« on: March 08, 2015, 03:04:04 pm »
NOTE: Having a bit of trouble posting. My browser is a little over zealous with things like NoScript, Disconnect, and other stuff. Yeah, I'm paranoid. Sorry if I accidentally double post.

So I have a computer that dual-boots Windoze 8.1 and Linux Mint 17.1 (lovely OS, it keeps getting better). I have used the TI software for connecting my Nspire CX to my computer on Windows. Of course, I prefer linux so I set up TILP2. The first time I messed up doing it manually (missing dependencies), second time I used the version in the repositories. It was the latest version, I checked. All this to say I realized this:

TILP doesn't support the CX. At least not entirely. It works partially. Screenshots, Device info. However file transfer and ROM dump fail. The settings only have a option for Nspire, not Nspire CX. I also noticed that in the terminal output, TILP thought my OS was version 1.1. Obviously TILP was not built for the CX, maybe it was written before the CX came out.

So my question is, is there something similar to TILP that works for the CX?
Can TILP be patched?

Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere else, I missed it.

Thanks guys!

Mwahh ;)

TiLP works just fine with all TI nspire models, it just doesn't support subfolders (folders in a folder under /documents).
As long as you're not using an age-old TiLP build, it should work fine.

Does it work with 3.6? I'm getting errors... I'll recompile it using the script. Maybe the repository version was flawed. If that doesn't work I'll post the error. Thanks for the quick reply.

EDIT: Compiled fine. But now it can't find the libraries. Fun with linux. I'll compile manually later.

All right, I figured it all out.

TILP doesn't support ROM dump on OSs above 1.x as explained at http://sourceforge.net/p/tilp/bugs/219/. Not a big deal as it isn't really necessary.

File transfer only works with drag and drop for some reason. Weird bug, but transfer works both ways.
