it might take a few times to get it right, but it should work.  I can't help you anymore than this, though. sorry.

What's about sending the OS from other TIs?

You could try it.  I think it would be easier.

Keep trying on the computer for a while, in case it doesn't work on the TI's at school.  Make sure the calculator you transfer from at school is the same model as the calculator receiving it.  It can be finicky, try several times on both methods.

I was wondering about the "same model" thing.  I'm guessing that calcs like 83PSE/83PSE are compatible as well as 84PBE/84PSE? (this without boot code exploits)

no, as in if you're using a TI-84 use a TI-84. If you're using an 83, use an 83.  I don't think it would matter, but I would even use TI 84 SE when you have a TI 84 SE or whatever.  I don't think it'll matter though.

The 83+ and 83+SE can accept OSes from 83+s or 83+SEs.
The 84+ and 84+SE can accept OSes from 84+s or 84+SEs.

For all intents and purposes, the TI-84 Pocket.fr is a TI-84 Plus.

There is no such thing as a "TI-84". When you call it that, it promotes confusion (it makes people think "What? There's an 84 non-Plus? Well I know there's an 83 non-Plus, maybe they're similar (totally wrong))"...). Please don't.

Yeah I remember people trying to argue with me that there was a 84 before, because they saw on forums people saying TI-84 instead of TI-84+ X.x

Ok good luck!

Also off-topic you might want to change your signature to I hate TI softwares instead of TI-Software, because TI-Software is the name of an actual calculator website by one of our members and he might take offense O.O
