That's just a superstition. Don't believe that.

The funny part about Dec 21st is that even if the world doesn't end, we just had a quite large 2.4 days long snowstorm here (lasting from Monday morning to Wednesday afternoon) and tomorrow we're getting another that is supposed to be stronger, although shorter, so more possible power outages and traffic jams over here.

But seriously, I think the only way the world could end is if for example something really bad was supposed to happen and only scientist knew, but they didn't want to let anyone know so that people do their business as usual, enjoying life, rather than mass chaos, or if some idiot decides to screw everything up on purpose. Otherwise the only things that might happen are another recession, a peak in earthquakes (although it appears to have been in 2010-11), the usual increase in natural disasters or like in 2004 or so, a peak in solar flares causing satellite or power outages.

Or maybe today could just be the start of good or bad events or changes. Or it could be the final day of the 2012 Apocalypse programming contest, meaning hurry up if you're participating!

this end of world is very confuse ; because mayan doesn't now time zone : if there is eow in 21 dec 2012 at 00:00 in america, in russia it'll be at 20 dec 2012  (if I do no error....)  :see the problem....

Also let me remind you that Mayan did not count the leap years meaning that their end of the world was supposed to be earlier than today
