I got TI-86
« on: September 23, 2011, 06:13:49 pm »
So I got TI-86 today. I figured out that you can have a custom name variables and the menu kinda looks like f(x)-9750g+, and it's kinda similar to TI-BASIC for ti-84.

What's the difference except for having about 90,000 RAM? How much archive space does it have?
What can I do with it? Does it run ASM programs?
Sig wipe!

None.
Good luck with RAM Clears. :P

Does it run ASM programs?
Yup.
My favorite is this one: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/226/22637.html

I have problems trying to send stuff to my TI-86 with TIconnect. It really hates some files (including megaman) for some reason. Also, megaman runs *really* slow IMHO. I was a bit disappointed with it. :/

Have fun with your 86! I got my hands on one for a little bit, and I thought it was pretty nice, but the menus annoyed me. Irrc, it has a CAS. Correct?

@yeong: Once upon a time I had a graphlink, and TI Graphlink software. It was still fussy(not detecting the calcs sometimes), but *Much* less so than TI connect.

*Edit* I also really like the menu setup and the fact that you can have custom shortcuts. :)
