Back from my two month sojourn
« on: July 28, 2013, 12:06:24 pm »
So I'm back after two months of not having access to the internet.

To make a long story short, first our modem broke, and then I have just been really busy or out of town since then, with funerals, etc. Sorry if anyone tried to contact me and didn't get a reply.

Also, thanks to everyone who let me know casio.clrhome.org was down, and thanks to Deep Thought for fixing that while I was offline. I am still filtering through PM's and emails, I'll try to reply to everyone as soon as possible. ;)

Nice to see you again. I was wondering where you went lol. :)

Sadly the PRIZM has been kinda slow everywhere, except one new game release an two projects underway, all of which were from Planète-Casio. On PC forums, the FX-9860G still outsells the PRIZM despite the monochrome screen, while on Omni and Cemetech, the 84+CSE has gained in popularity due having a much faster BASIC language than the PRIZM (along with ASM libs to enhance it) and the fact it uses the same processor as the old models (meaning ASM people don't have to learn a new language). The TI-Nspire CX is still at the same level of activity, although game releases are more sparse (the latest being a large Chinese RPG translated to English).

As for the ClassPad 400, apparently BASIC is even slower than the PRIZM, so I'm unsure how it will do since SH4 ASM/C isn't very popular to begin with. The HP Prime is supposed to come out this fall so I am curious how it will do. If they didn't mess the BASIC language up like on the PRIZM (drawing commands), I think HP Prime BASIC will rival Nspire Lua speed.
