Calc Monopoly
« on: May 13, 2013, 09:56:41 pm »
I'm thinking about making a calculator monopoly... I've already made my own Minecraft monopoly, with tools as proerties. I'm thinking that the TI-30 should be the earliest property and progress into the epic calcs i need like the nspire and the new casio touch screen calc. But what should the taxes be? And the railroads?
Anyway, it will take some research (I'm not a calc whiz like most people on this forum), and I could use some help with ideas. Thanks!

Lol, I though you were going to write a commentary on TI's near-monopoly on educational graphing calculators.

Good luck on your endeavor.  You should probably start with the TI-83 plus family, as it is onfe of the most popular platforms.

Monopoly should be a pretty decent project. Shouldn't be too difficult either. What language are you going to be working with?

Monopoly just needs a lot of content. That's where you will be spending the most time on: adding content (strings, cards, names)
If you like my work: why not give me an internet?

The taxes perhaps should be imposed by TI?
Due to dissatisfaction, I will be inactive on Omnimaga until further notice. (?? THP hasn't been much success and there's also the CE. I might possibly be here for a while.)
If you want to implore me to come back, or otherwise contact me, I can be found on GitHub (bluebear94), Twitter (@melranosF_), Reddit (/u/Fluffy8x), or e-mail (if you know my address). As a last resort, send me a PM on Cemetech (bluebear94) or join Touhou Prono (don't be fooled by the name). I've also enabled notifications for PMs on Omnimaga, but I don't advise using that since I might be banned.

@ Art_Of_Camelot:
I'm working in pencil and poster. The best language ever XD (Sry if I'm disappointing... I'm just not all that good with calc graphics, and I don't know a lot of the commands).
@ Streetwalker:
See above answer.
@ Blue_Bear_94:
That's kinda what I was thinking... But what should the names be? All the ones I think up would be good Chance cards....

I'm also working on a TI-BASIC command framework, again with pencil and paper (Need to add more commands, outline, and make the word list). If anyone doesn't know what a framework is, it's basically a crossword that shows you the words but doesn't tell you to where they go. They're definitely one of my favorite puzzles.

Ah, lol. For some reason I automatically assumed it was a programming project. I guess that explains why you posted it in this section. :p

On which calc would such project be? If it's on the TI-84+, you have to keep in mind that your game would be in direct competition with the 1998 Monopoly, so you would need to make your game stand out.
