I got a portable keyboard(yamaha YPG-235) and a kindle paperwhite.

I also bought myself a MetroPCS Galaxy SIII. I'm trying to decide what ROM to put on it or whether to leave it as stock

It is light for a keyboard and is one of the lower quality ones. I don't know much else what the description of a portable keyboard is. It is pretty much a simple synthesizer I'll get pics later

Cool.  You might want to put a non stock rom on your new phone.  Most custom roms aren't as stable but they are usually a lot quicker.  I've had custom roms on my phone for a while and I like it better than my parents' who kept the stock.

I'm learning to play it now

EDIT: @Nicco I like some of the features of stock like the auto-wifi finder, but I would also like Jelly Bean. I also am worried about this because I don't want to brick my $400 phone.

Hm. I nearly forgot I got a 32" HDTV for my room to replace my current 27" CRT, which is next to my 27" computer screen and my 19" one.

SCREENS EVERYWHERE IN MY ROOM

You know that a good brand CRT tv will beat an HD tv in quality any day. The tv my parents have (bought 10? years ago) is still the best quality I will ever see.

But hey HD tvs are great too because you can get a great size without all that weight. XD
And I got a psvita for christmas. :P

True, CRTs are still pretty great if you play mainly old video games (such as the N64 and below), otherwise, there's HDMI inputs so i can plug my laptop in :D

I was afraid of bricking my phone too.  It usually isn't a problem though.  Just read the directions word for word and read through a lot of forums about it.  You just need to make sure that you know what you're doing before you do anything and if things do go bad and you do brick you can usually ask for help to get it unbricked except lots of android forums hate noobs for some reason.  I have an account on XDA Developers but I never use it, probably for that reason because I'm somewhat of a noob and I'll just get hated on. :P

Usually you don't have to worry. Most phones have a key combination to reboot them in recovery mode (if not, you're screwed), if you flash it you can easily repair and backup your device.

Are there risks of the key being corrupted during such hacking attempt?

Also I'M glad we still have a CRT TV near our LCD one. My LCD TV doesn't display SNES and NES games properly, same for Wii Virtual Console games. Plenty of horizontal junk appears between every row of pixels. Apparently it has to do with lack of interlacing or something.

or you just download recovery software along with you ROM. that way you're wuite sure you can always restore it. I put a non-stock rom on my SE xperia X10 mini pro too, and it rocks! Roms are most of the time more efficient and fluent than stockROMS, since all the unnessescary crap is removed by the developers.
