« on: October 28, 2010, 08:38:00 pm »
for those of you who have dragon cave eggs,

who has been collection stuff for the trick or treating event?  I already have 30

does anyone know what happen when you collect all (rumored to be 92) of them?

I'M not sure, I never heard of that thing. I got an egg, but I do not follow the Dragon Cave community that much.

it's not the community -- you can click on some images on the site (such as creepy eyes, candy canes, dragon fetuses in jars (relly creepy)) and they get added to yur trick or treat bag.  It has nothing to do with the community in general, but I'm sure they're wondering about it too

here's a screenshot of what a trick or treating bag looks like:

You have to click on the candy and stuff that shows up on the site to start your bag.

I've gotten a couple of things, but haven't been actively clicking them.

Yeah, it is.  It makes the images in your sig load slow too.

Yeah, hence my comment earlier. If it becomes too hectic (like the server taking 30 seconds to respond most of the time), I'll have to remove all eggs from people signatures, since it messes with OmnomIRC. I guess the site might just be on a slow server or a shared hosting. Omnimaga had slow loading speeds when it got slashdotted and had 1800 people at once.

As long as people keep the number of eggs reasonable it shouldn't be a problem.  Or maybe we could upload the images to {AP} Image Uploader.

I wonder if that would be against their rules, though (or break the script)

Well, as long as we link it back to them...
I don't know.  We should really find out the copyright rules on it.

Well my concern is that maybe when you click an egg, a script is executed on their site that goes check the HTML code where was linked the dragon egg and if it's different, maybe it will report you

that's sounds like it might be true, but this sight seems relatively simple...

so {AP} might work.  Who wants to test this?

EDIT: also I have like 50 trick or treating things now
