Sorry to hear. It's unfortunate, but hopefully it will bring down stress levels to a more manageable level. I wish the best.

Your participation in this community definitely hasn't been wasted, I don't think, despite the problems that occurred. I see lots of people here who have benefited from this place and its philosophies, and even the problems can teach valuable lessons (though maybe not always right away).

I just noticed Hot Dog edit: are you sure Ztrumpet will even be allowed again today, though? (meaning, to browse Omni at all). My worry is if his parents are very narrow-minded about technology and despite their kids knowing a lot about it, will not get in their head that Internet Explorer just plain sucks when it comes to virus protection and that to get viruses they have to really not be careful, such as downloading torrents and browsing warez/porn sites or not being careful to scams.

Omnimaga is just another calculator site like United-TI and TIBD, we monitor files for their content and if I got infected elsewhere, I would quit uploading anything to Omnimaga altogether until I cleaned my PC.

That said, Omni or not, I seriously hope Ztrumpet did not lose his entire calc projects... I hope he back them up to his comp asap once repaired if he didn't.

I'M still worried, though, since the way his parents seemed to talk, I may not be able to talk to Ztrumpet again until he moves out of home and he's one close online friend
It's okay, as they are pretty understanding, just not completely.  They actually think any site that I go to is where viruses come from, so me getting on Omnimaga is no different than UTI or TIBD. :)  He just thinks that: Calculator programmers may know how to create computer viruses and would put them on calc forums to laugh at people.  =\  That's their logic... I don't believe it though. :)

I'm back on now.  Our computer is working again, and I'm allowed to check more than email. :)

My calc it backed up on my flash drive mostly, so I should probably back it up... ;D  I also have all my project progress on my calcs, be it in group or program form. :)

Thanks for relaying the message Hot Dog! :D

Thanks DJ.  You're someone I respect immensely and consider a friend (well, online friend) too, so that means a lot! ;D

I agree with your decision to avoid #omnimaga, but I await your return.  I really look forward to when you're on again! ;D

Nah calc coders will create viruses for the calc, not PC :D, welll, they don't actually, since it's pointless, but BrandonW/Iambian knows how :P

And thanks, welcome back ^^

A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

Girls = Time * Money (Girls are a combination of time and money)
Time = Money (Time is money)
Girls = Money squared (So, girls are money squared)
Money = sqrt(Evil) (Money is also the root of all evil)
Girls = sqrt(Evil) squared (So, girls are the root of all evil squared)
Girls = Evil (Thus, girls are evil)

I would like to sincerely apologize for any antics I may have committed that added to the cumulative stress you endure on a daily basis and exacerbated the situation at hand. I hope things get better for you and that you decide to return to the #omnimaga EFNet channel some day soon.

I somewhat agree with Galandros, however. There will always be people in this inter-forum community who will, for some inane reason, disdain you and desire your permanent leave. Your systematic withdrawal from the TI community really is a reinforcement of their malevolent behaviors. If these people know that by continuing their actions they will get their way, they won't stop. They will keep exacerbating the situation themselves until you feel you have no choice but to withdraw entirely and they will have "won".

However, I am not saying that you should just "deal with it" and stay regardless the situation or your feelings. Sometimes a sabbatical is exactly "what the doctor ordered" in order to stay strong.

Come back and rickroll us all soon, alright? ;)

yeah well, the next time, if I return and certain of the same people do the same thing again (that made me leave) I'll have an indication that these people in particular comes to #omnimaga for the sole purpose of pissing me off. If that's the case, they will be removed from the channel, since they're not the kind of user we welcome in our channel. The same applies to forums anyway. If someone in particular does absolutely no effort to not be rude or if someone purposely snaps on people/annoy them to piss them off/scare them away, they will be removed as well.

It looks like I may never be ready to come back again on a permanent basis. A few people (8, I think, one of which is gone) have been aware that this and the hosting space owner change were coming since January began, altough some only knew in February, but it looks like the inevitable has finally be come. From now on it may simply be a bunch of visits every few days or occasional ones with some chatting through OmnomIRC. I feared this would eventually happen but I did not know when. Eventually my visits on IRC will also get more sparse and I may eventually never show up in #ti again, then eventually it will be #omnimaga turn (and minimizing the chatbox on my PC). I alerady have visited MSN/yahoo messender/skype less and less often since the past few months and have been gone from any other IRC channel since about the beginning of February. After I am completly gone from #omnimaga/OmnomIRC, Omnimaga as a whole will be next, but I don't see this happening in the next half a year. A few people have been left indications so far, but only 8 are really aware of the details. One other person is aware of something like this too but not with much details either.

DJ, I'm sorry.
Please realize that I truly didn't understand what you were saying in that conversation.  I meant no ill harm to you, and I wish you would stay on irc.

as said in my post I'll pbly still show up in the chan, just not idle there regulary. Normally I used to stay on 24/7. Eventually I may join once per 3 days then a week then idk.

Also I am sorry if earlier I was rude or something, I just don,t have as much patience anymore. Has my english deteriorated that much to cause most people to no longer understand me? I may also not take requests anymore and switch MSN address to one with only some Omnimaga people on it, so it's less of a burden for me. Now, when I login, 4 windows open within the first second.

One thing to consider, though, is that I am partly cause of the problem when misunderstoods occurs. So if I get angry at someone, it may not necessarly be all his fault, simply because I take stuff the bad way easier and had an hard time solving this. My main worry is if someone eventually lose patience because of me and I get haters because of it, this is not good for the entire community because then it ends up into inter community disputes or rivalries. And I would prefer this to not happen. As soon as I am gonna start harming Omnimaga with my personal issues this is when I will be leaving. However, I don't see this happening soon, altough I took early precautions in case. For example, rcfreak0 is alerady charge of hosting now, but I still send him the money to pay the bill as long as I am around.

Knowing the 2008-09 userbase we got I think Omnimaga would have bigger chances to live without me than the old board did, since it seems now people are more fans of Omnimaga as a whole rather than just fans of myself. No offense to the old board community, but it really seemed like many members and staff didn't care much about the site. I think there were even a bunch of staff that didn't like each others and a lot of members and staff seemed to side with haters and advocate some of their behavior. During Summer 2009, I realised this new board community seemed to be different in overall on that point. Maybe this is also why so many members have been around for over a year and that we get this much activity, now?
