And I got to scare the crap out of everyone!  My neighbors had a haunted house in their garage.
Big masks hanging down from ceiling, strobe lights, fog, black tarps, and me (masked) wearing all black, chasing people.

I know somebody that would wait at the door until the trick-or-treaters started to leave, then he'd suddenly throw open the door and yell.
And he was dressed as some really weird freaky-looking thing, don't know how to explain it.
It was awesome though ;D

p.s. He made sure to not freak out any 5-year-olds or anything.

I was Brock from Pokémon and I was with Misty and Ash. Misty even had a Togepi and Ash had pokéballs that he threw at people (one random person that we didn't know about was dressed as an Umbreon... Guess who caught an Umbreon?) On top of that, later that night, Ash asked Misty out!!! ♥ It was such a cool Halloween!

Haha that's great! XD

As kid we had fun times at halloween over here too. I remember my final trick or treating year I was a pumkin. We did not have much money so my mom took a big orange garbage bag and drew lines on it, she put 2 holes in it so I can wear it and she stuffed plenty of newspaper balls in it so I was so big. The only bad part was getting through doors :P

I also remember a supermarket that year had massive pumpkins.

I still trick or treated, as a faceless person. I was planning to get all of my neighborhood, but apparently, there was an ordinance for no trick or treating after 8pm, so people were slamming the door in my face after 8. Those who didn't know about the ordinance just gave me everything left from their candy, though :P I weighed all my candy and got 6 1/2 pounds, which was still a great haul.

That's weird.  I got to scare people until 9:00, and that was only b/c no one else was coming.

Over here luckily it's night time around 6 PM at this time of the year so if there was such law, we just gotta eat dinner earlier and trick or treat right afterward. Some people do it during daytime but it isn't as fun, imho. It's better when you can scare people :P

We still had trick-or-treaters coming after 8 :P
There was plenty of candy to go around, though

Hey, from now on my post count will take up two bytes >:D  Such a big difference!

Me and my friends got ~12 lbs of candy each O.o

Our neighborhood gives the best candy but most people decided to visit other neighborhoods.  We say 8 other people out there in the whole neighborhood that night. :D

We stayed out till 9:30

I just stayed at home, stuck the candy at the door, and pretended to not be at home while I went online.

Oh. Well, the trick-or-treaters obviously like it when no one's around. Every time I checked the basket of candy, it was empty :P

"Away from house, please take one"  seems to be interpreted as "dump into bag as you please."
Maybe next year you could set up a fake camera or something..."CAREFUL, KIDS! I'M WATCHING YOU!"
