ook, all this drama going on, when someone used my account during the incident, is so retarded. qazz is leaving, people are following him to cemetech, ruining omnimaga early into 2011. Look, if it makes them come back, I'll just leave omnimaga. and all calc sites. Obviously whatever happened was so bad that people have to leave the site. Grow up. I had no control over it, nobody did. I left my window open, which was a mistake. That is all I know about what could've happened. Look, you people who leave over the incident, just come back dammit, I'm leaving.
Also personal apology to DJ, I sent you hat nasty PM back, which I shouldn't have, I was beyond wrong -- that was in my control, and I'm sorry.
I don't want to be responsible for the death of omnimaga, so I'll leave and you guys can just go on peacefully.

No, please don't leave Ashbad. Please do not do this to me nor Omnimaga. Only one friggin person left and that person was rude to all of Omnimaga by leaving himself, because he shouldn't have left just for one person. Personally I will miss you more than him because you were a great contributor. He kept bringning up the matter everytime you came on no matter what you would say and was rude, which he shouldn't have done here. A lot of people loves you and want you to stay I am pretty sure. Personally I will feel even worse if you leave than about the PM or other incidents. Please re-consider and @other people please do not start another TIMGUL-like stunt.
Ashbad, what you should do is explain the situation on Cemetech and if some people there don't understand, then fuck them. The same thing happened to Happybobjr the other week and when it got explained we all moved on. Now just because it happens on another site two people not primarly from Omnimaga jumps at you. If you come on IRC and they jump at you again you have my head up to warn them about a possible ban if they continue, if I am not online. Just quote this post.
Besides, this seems to be spread among members there to leave sites in anger just for one single person. You shouldn't even take the leaving of one of them seriously. Everytime a little something bad happened on the previous Omnimaga site, some people from there threatened to leave and if they were involved they even sometimes brought it up there. Now this doesn't happen as much, but I noticed a lot of things happening similar to Qazz leaving.
Anyway Ashbad please come back asap and I would like to talk to you on IRC whenever possible.

don't worry I saw them happybobjr. I'll stay, but if I do, I hope we all can forget about this? In the meantime, I'm gonna crack down on the Team and get the mentor to ask who exactly did it, and find out who used my account. I think he'll do that for me.

Ashbad, I do not want to accuse anyone, especially since it is not even 100% guaranteed it is not you (if it is I hope you promise me to never do it again), but could it be one of your real life friend/ex-friend that signed up on the forums? You mentionned that one of them was experienced with BASIC and Correlation was even brought up in the logs on Omnimaga when the incident occured.
Anyway Happybobjr and Scout try to not start a flame war, because you'll be banned. If it was Ashbad, then he knows better and if he is really a friend he shouldn't do this again. If it was not him, then he needs to make sure to keep his account secure, that's all. I have to rate down both Scout and Happybobjr posts.

I guess a public computer was being used? You guys need to be really careful when using public computers to logon to the site. Otherwise you get morons using your name and cause all kinds of trouble like this. I'd hate to see someone leave or be permabanned just because of forgetting to log off and having someone cause trouble on your user-name.

And that applies even more to admins, because as admin you can almost delete everything.
Someone will have to post a news about account security because this seems to be becoming a recurrent problem now. First Bwang, now Happybobjr, now Ashbad. I even wonder if it wasn't the same person behind all...

I agree, a news article would be nice, I could write it for you if you want. first bwang then happybobjr now me, this is getting bad. Though I bet bwang's was his little brother verdant, and happybobjr's was more like mine where some guy at school probably did it.
And yes scout and happybobjr please just stop about this. I will swear as much as I need to it wasn't me. I have no time or want to deal with this situation anymore. If possible, let's move on.

Ok, because the issue is that I heard it was possible to do some sort of IP spoofing or hack someone computer to do stuff from his IP/internet connection. A person in particular could have been trying to attempt hacking various member accounts to cause trouble. Also if you happen to live close to other forum members, the person could simply have tracked down your location/school from IRC logs and simply went from a school to another to do his shit. It's more speculation than anything else, but we never know.
Anyway I'm glad the issue on this side is resolved. If anyone else ever try to bring this up to start a fight on IRC or forums out of nowhere (for example if you say hi, I made new progress on TaNF, then suddently someone arrives and brings up what happened), he's gonna get warned (or banned if he already got warnings) for trolling and if that person kept doing it it would be harrassment.
Personally I'll let you and Happybobjr go away with just a warning to either not do this again (if it happened to be you) or to keep your account secure (if it wasn't you), because we have no proof about who it was, one downside of Internet anonymity. But in the future, I need to edit the forum rules disclaimers to say that each member is responsible for their account security and that if their account is left insecure and is compromised, the punishments for any bad action done from that account will be account-based and user-based instead of just the latter. In other words, someone could end up being banned because of negligence that lead to disrupting the forums or channel.
On my temporary journey back into admin, I'll probably add a red notice at the top of the Login page encouraging public computer users to uncheck the remember me box and to set a very low login time, such as 5 minutes, or simply not log in altogether.
Also remember that if you login on your e-mail account and forget to logout, anyone could send himself a password reminder through your e-mail account and befoul your posts or profile.
