Thats not good.  I'm starting to kinda worry for 2012, despite all these jokes...  And theres supposed to be a major earthquake on the New Madrid Fault every 200 years...

btw, for the ritcher scale level, its actually ~9.2, but Earthquakes aren't allowed above 9.0, so its official level is 9.0, by the time it reached Japan, they estimate about 8.8-8.9, and they report it as that just to make it look better.

And I agree with all thats been said, I hope Japan recovers and receives as much help if not more than what Haiti received, at least they didn't have a tsunami...  And I hope the death toll stops rising...

From wikipedia:
Maya calender:
Misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a New Age belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 21, 2012 is simply the day that the calendar will go to the next baktun.
baktun:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baktun

There's ofcourse always a chance the world ends in 2012, but not for the reasons of the maya.

Actually the Indonesia/Sri Lanka earthquake that caused a tsunami in 2004 and 300000 deaths was 9.5. It just occured in the ocean. Strong earthquakes often occurs underwater. But yeah last year there were lots of Earthquakes. It stopped after this Summer, but then it started again. I hope the nuclear threat in Japan won't get too bad. I think people should really try to find different sources of energy or something, especially with what happened at Chernobyl.

people are just afraid to report it like that, from what I've heard.

I heard that there will be no way to cool the waste, so they're going to encase it in concrete to prevent leaks instead of trying.

And, from what I heard, they upped it to a 9 after the fact.

Yeah it seems like they're gonna do like Chernobyl. I hope that thing won't overheat, though, or something else. So far it seems less bad than Chernobyl, but I hope it won't escalate more.

I find your post extremely offensive to those who are currently suffering in Japan or have family or friends there. I'm asking you to please edit the content of your post and to be more considerate to other people and lives

List of stuff I need to do before September:
1. Finish the Emulator of the Casio Prizm (in active development)
2. Finish the the SH3 asm IDE/assembler/linker program (in active development)
3. Create a partial Java virtual machine  for the Prizm (not started)
4. Create Axe for the Prizm with an Axe legacy mode (in planning phase)
5. Develop a large set of C and asm libraries for the Prizm (some progress)
6. Create an emulator of the 83+ for the Prizm (not started)
7. Create a well polished game that showcases the ability of the Casio Prizm (not started)

Hmm, that was one big troll up there...

Anyway he's gone because he was warned and banned for spamming before (outside randomness) and borderline trollish-ness, and now he spams outside randomness and now this post. He has no interest in contributing anything constructive to the forums and only comes here to post trolls that we can barely even dechiper, kinda like Verdant/Parsimony and Thegame/i am a troll.

Bye bye BOB! (well... until your next account I guess :P)

BOB!, what if it killed you?  Instead of being 104 innocent people, it would just be 100 trolls.  That would bring 1028 peace back to this site.

When human life is an issue, one death is too much.

As much as the loss of life in Japan is, was, and will always be terrible, the immediate casualty caused by the quake and tsunami will not be the end of suffering there if there is a nuclear meltdown. For that reason, I hope God (or whoever they believe in) watches over them.

FYI: Other facts about the quake. It moved Japan by 8ft; sped up the earth's rotation, making days like a microsecond shorter; and I heard once that it actually fractured the tectonic plate that Japan sits on.

[Edit] @Ashbad, we may not like what people say, but we don't have the right to wish evil on them.

[Edit] @BOB, one life lost is a tragedy. Remember that. If a member of your family died, would you be saying "It's only one person" then?

[Edit] I have seen evidence of weird stuff going on all over the world (not just in Japan). I don't know what is going on, but something is happening. I can post evidence (not in this topic, tho).
