Hic Latine loquamur! (aut Anglice loqui tibi licet si non potes :P)
Quaere omnia quae de Latina lingua cognoscere velis.

Here let us speak Latin! (or you are permitted to speak in English if you are not able :P)
Ask all things which you wish to learn about the Latin language.

I wish I knew enough to speak Latin here. I'm learning but the vocab is hard to get down.

What is the hardest thing to learn in Latin that's not vocab?

Well, the only two main parts are grammar and vocabulary. Being "fluent" to some extent is also rather difficult.

My latin teacher says I'm doing pretty well with understanding the concepts of the language if not the vocab. What is the easiest or best way to learn the vocab?

Different things work best for different people. My teacher likes to recommend flashcards, which help a lot of people. There are lots of other techniques. You can associate a word with a similar-meaning derivative, for example.

You might want to change the title of this thread to Latinus fili. I hope that's a correct translation

Lorem Ipsum is fake latin... based on real latin.

Also I would love if my school actually gave latin courses. Since Vatican II, Latin is not really useful anymore, so they stopped giving latin courses here.

Remember the day the walrus started to fly...

I finally cleared my sig after 4 years you're happy now?

cattus puel = catgirl

I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with that translation. I don't know what cat is but I know girl is puella.

By going to a Catholic school I know a little bit of Latin, but I never took our Latin class.

Mater Dei - Mother of God
Caritas Christi - Love of Christ
Agnus Dei -Lamb of God
Pax Romana - Peace of Rome
Lux Nova - New light

and that's about it :P

List of stuff I need to do before September:
1. Finish the Emulator of the Casio Prizm (in active development)
2. Finish the the SH3 asm IDE/assembler/linker program (in active development)
3. Create a partial Java virtual machine  for the Prizm (not started)
4. Create Axe for the Prizm with an Axe legacy mode (in planning phase)
5. Develop a large set of C and asm libraries for the Prizm (some progress)
6. Create an emulator of the 83+ for the Prizm (not started)
7. Create a well polished game that showcases the ability of the Casio Prizm (not started)

Note to others: don't use Google Translate for Latin; it's horrendous.
yunhua: fail :P
This is supposed to be serious, mind you, as evidenced by it's placement in miscellaneous, not spam ;)

Machine translation in general is fraught with error. I sometimes use Google Translate to read posts on TI-Bank (French -> English) and have seen some pretty ridiculous translations, e.g.:

Original post: La CX n'est pas livré avec son couvercle
Translation: The CX is bundled with its lid

I can forgive the "cover"/"lid" thing, maybe "couvercle" can mean either of those, but... "n'est pas" -> "is"? Really?
