Adblock Plus, a popular add-on for Firefox that blocks pretty much every ad ever.

And any ad it doesn't block, you can ask it to block

There is a similar extension for google chrome. its really funny when you go to a site like nibbits.com and there's a big box on the top that says "WHAT HAS A BANNER EVER DONE TO YOU? Suppot Nibbits, Disable AdBlock!" Just out of curiosity, does the ad blocking also prevent the site from getting revenue?

I would be okay with ads on the site, just as long as they aren't too obnoxious.

Ya, I wouldn't particularly care.

Somehow MySpace was worth like twenty-one million last night, I think. Not sure how that happened.

To generate revenues, ads need to be clicked. Since you are not allowed to tell people to click your banners on your site and that few people click them everyday, at 60-100 different people a day for $0.001 per click or the like, it doesn't raise fast. I personally don't want to bother.

@Geekboy1011 technically I still pay, tho, as long as I am around. I just send him the money via paypal when necessary (or in advance when the currency exchange rate is high)

Google ads pays you for every hit, not just every click.

I make about $300 dollars a year from ads on my YouTube channel, and I bet Omnimaga gets hits in a similar range.  At least the way Google Ads work is they pay a certain amount per impression (page view) which is usually small fractions of cents.  But then on top of that, there is another revenue they give per click which is a lot higher.

how did you manage to get ads on Youtube? Did they feature you or something?

I am curious if Omni ads would generate enough revenues. Now, we get a lot of traffic, but it doesn't mean anything. I suggest you ask Chronomex on one of the TI channels and he'll tell you the 3 years of ads revenues they got so far was just enough to buy 2 or 3 beers. It might depend of the site, really. On TIMGUL, when activity started to rise I added ads on the site and absolutely no one ever clicked them.

Maybe someone could ask AlienCC or Netwizz on United-TI to know how much revenues UTI got from their old ads. They used Google adsense, then removed them and switched to Yahoo ads. Then they finally got rid of them. I guess there must be a reason for that.

Also I am worried that in Randomness, ads might sometimes lead to viruses or porn sites, like some Invisionfree boards did.
