He was the mastermind behind an attack that killed almost 3,000 Americans, that's why they're excited.

I do agree, though, I would have rather seen him stand trial.
They GUESS And THINK it was him on 9/11 , but I once saw a documentaire showing that it could alll be set up; Bush might havd known!
Ofcourse this is seriously debatable, and might stay a mystery forever.

Personally, I wouldn't give those conspiracy theories a second thought. They're little better than the theorists who claim that the lunar landings were staged, or who claimed that Oswald didn't kill JFK.

Why would you? What good would it do for Bush to have planned the whole thing? Why would he want to kill 3,000 of his own people? It did no good for the country in ANY way, and there was nothing to even slightly suggest that it MIGHT have done anything good for the country. Seriously, I don't care how many conspiracy theories you throw at me, there are stronger explanations against each claim than there are supporting each claim. If you really believe that Bush set the whole thing up, then I feel very sorry for you.

ZippyDee, he is entitled to think what he wants about it; no need to get harsh.

I am kinda glad I have an AP test today and will be missing a double period of my history class today, as my teacher will probably go on and on about this! :)

Seriously though, I am happy that the United States was finally able to bring some justice to the families of those who were killed at 9/11.

I am merely arguing against it. He can think what he wants. I won't stop him. I just think it's a ridiculous idea altogether. I'm sorry.

This is good news for the war on terrorism
Even though this won't seriously affect any terrorist organizations. It really is only a psychological victory.
It sends the message to them that If you make the US mad we will get you it might take us 10 years but we will get you

EDIT:I heard that he was fighting back to prevent capture. If he was shooting at the soldiers it really wasn't an amoral thing for him to die.

If this is true, it is good news indeed. I'll wait until I hear more details until I make my judgment.

@Stefan Bauwens: Generally people are happy when terrorists, mass murderers and people with no regard for human life (including those of their followers/allies) are dead. Bin Laden was all of these things. In the grand scheme of things though I suppose it doesn't really matter, as there are and always will be more people like him unfortunately. :(

Also people in the class, half of them are obsessed with whatever the latest FPS is (cod/halo/whatever) and this is a lot like those games apparently...small group of people going in by helicopter and kill the bad guy in a dramatic firefight :P

Sounds like my school :P

Well yes, they got him, they killed him, which is somewhat immoral, but considering he killed like 3000 americans and authored one of the worst terrorist attack and the most memorable one, well, that's better than nothing, that's why people around the world rejoice of his death. Of course I would prefer he gets at least a trial before he gets killed.

How can you make jokes? How can you say 'I'm glad they got him'???
The KILLED him! Isn't it immorral?
I wouldn't mind if they put him in prison or so, but killing?
And I can't understand that you can laugh with this...

This.  I'm absolutely horrified that people are cheering in the thousands that he's dead, from a moral standpoint.  Okay, yes, this mean it may save others, and even make some families who suffered from 9/11 feel some closure, but still.  He is was a human being.  I'm relieved he's dead, but I'm also sad and I pray for him.  Not even he should burn in the eternal froth of hell.

However, I can't say this is a bad day, though.  While I think it's wrong to cheer he's dead, I think it's more appropriate to cheer that 'Al-Quieda is soon a-gonna crumble'.  Just my thoughts.
