No, that's Windows 9.
All versions after that will be completely nonfunctional (continuing the trend of Windows).
For example, Windows 10 will look like this:

I lol'ed. That said, in Windows 7 I had FAR less problems than in XP. I haven't tried Vista enough to judge, though. Windows 98 (non-SE) and XP were crash-havens, although at least XP was just apps behaving weirdly, requiring CTRL+ALT+DEL, rather than BSOD's every minute or so. I have only needed to force restart my Seven computer once.

That said, in many cases it's the application fault for having bugs or using innapropriate hardware (outdated video cards, for example), not the OS.

EDIT: Just noticed I am on a different page now, so I missed every post above on this page until now XD

You could also use something different than gedit for developpment, like emacs or vim. You will earn a lot more space.

i use geany for development, with the top compressed into a single bar. pluma (mate's gedit fork) is useful for previewing files, though, because it supports dragging and dropping chunks of text.

What's the difference between gedit and pluma? From what I've seen, it's just a renaming.

My desktop has changed a fair bit, but the general structure of icons on the desktop hasn't in the past ... so many years.

EDIT: Yes, I have a "Turn off Monitor" button. Very useful in the case of laptops, where most of them don't have a power button to begin with (most just sleeps the computer, which defeats the purpose of just turning off the monitor)

EDIT2: The quote is supposed to be motivational. If I can see it, I'm not doing enough.

A Cherry-Flavored Iambian draws near... what do you do? ...

gedit uses gtk3, so it takes longer to load etcetera, and it has fewer features because the gnome team has been working to faze out everything they don't find fitting for their "brand name". pluma also integrates with mate's preferences (though i don't think there's a difference any more)

Changed some things around. The top left is my Desktop dir, bottom left XKCD, bottom right Dolphin. I'll throw in some conky stuff once I get it to work properly.

Lol StreetWalker, that wallpaper is the one I used for the titlescreen in Rainbow Dash Attack.
I own: 83+ ; 84+SE ; 76.fr ; CX CAS ; Prizm ; 84+CSE
Sorry if I answer with something that seems unrelated, English is not my primary language and I might not have understood well. Sorry if I make English mistakes too.
