I have pictures for all my files on my mac, and it's so organized I have trouble finding what I need :P
Pretty sure that means it's not organized at all :P How about "needlessly hierarchical"? (I used to do that in middle school. Any of the files I would be commonly working on would be five folders nested from the Documents folder...)

I'm a bit more minimalist now. Never any files (or any icons for that matter) on the desktop—if I want to open something, I hit Ctrl+Esc and type it in. (Like Spotlight but significantly less useful.)

Also, really proud of this theme :D It's a combination of this theme, a bunch of window manager tweaks (transparent window decorations and all that), and a background image I just whipped up in Gimp (because the original theme background is a dead link).

(Click for larger image.)

It also shows off me pushing my computer to the limit, with OS X Yosemite and Windows 8.1 VMs running at the same time (had to shut down folding@home to get the screenshot though).

What do you mean?

Other than the things I mentioned in the post, it's pretty much a vanilla Xubuntu desktop. XFCE is extremely customizable.

xfwm4's theming is borderline silly, it's basically beryl/emerald except with only 1-bit transparency.

xfwm4 supports alpha on windows/window decorations though. It's nice enough.

Also, is that XFCE with the default GNOME background? :P What indicators do you have there (top right corner)?

Just the ageless stripes.png :P

In order, there's feedindicator, whatever the default network indicator's called, redshift, syspeek, indicator-sound, indicator-messages, recent notifications. Next is xfce's brightness applet, then the default power manager set to show all icons (mumble mumble something unity's indicator displaying mouse's battery instead of the one that actually matters).
Really wish there were a way to rearrange them into something that makes more  sense, but can't win em all.

Go into Indicator Plugin settings and under Known Indicators all your active indicators are listed, from which you can arrange using the arrow buttons on the side.

Still hanging in there :/ legal system's obnoxiously slow as always, but I guess things are going well so far.

It lets you rearrange some things, but it lumps "Application Indicators" into one item.
Though come to think of it I haven't tested to see if the applet listens to ordering-override.keyfile..
