I was reading the thread about the origins of this forum, and with the word "omnimaga" inevitably appearing in just about every post, I was starting to wonder how it's pronounced.

In my mind, I say it ohm-nee-mah-gah.  Is that right?  Or is there some other pronunciation of it?

Yep it's the right pronounciation. Actually it's pronounced the same way in English that it is in French.

Yeah, ohm-nee-may-gah was the other way I was thinking about it, but I realized it sounds too much like "omnimega".  So that's why I figured the "ah" sound for the a made more sense.

The first time I visited this site, I thought the "n" in the banner at the top was a pi symbol, haha.

Oh wow.  I think I misunderstood.  DJ_O said "the logo letters look like Greek letters" which I assumed implied they were not Greek letters.

Unless by logo, he is referring to something other than the banner at the top...

speeking of logo, will we update it with new calc progs?

I wouldn't mind if I ever:

1) Have enough free time
2) Still have the .pfi files of the banner (from memories, the halo effect around text is orange instead of white so I would have to fix that too)
3) As long as Reuben, Zelda DLQ, Metroid and maybe ROL3, Grayscale Minesweeper and Bejewelled remains there, since they're kinda like Omnimaga classics. An alternative could be to switch to an animated banner that runs at 0.25 frames per second and alternate between classics and newer games, but from memories, using an animated banner on a website is considered terrible web design.

As for the logo, greek letters were used for the O, N and A letters and the imaginary i for the I, but they are not intended to be used as greek letters. Back in the days, it was not common to see those chars on a calculator and they were sometimes used as custom fonts for alphabet. SiCoDe did that too.
