Yeah even for a TAS this was fast. However, I think most tool-assisted speedruns make usage of luck manipulation. Since true randomizing doesn't exist in most NES games (usually it's just pseudo randomizing based on specific user input/actions, which is why, for example, in some RPGs, it's possible to avoid most random enemy encounters) he probably abused this so he can win almost instantly. And to make sure it is possible to win, chess games cannot really be made without some randomizing and full AI.

im not sure if i have the original rubiks cube (it looks exactly like the original but it is from Taiwan cuz in Australia it's really expensive $20AUD) but it can't be taken apart, (well i haven't really tried)
It moves ok, but maybe it can be lubricated a bit? i dunno...

For a 3x3x3, I can usually solve them from 45 seconds to a minute, although if I get lucky, I can just barely squeeze a 30 seconder out.
4x4x4 ranges from about 3 minutes to hours, depending on how confused I get.  (I need more practice with this one)
5x5x5 consistently takes about 5 minutes.
My website: Currently boring.

Projects:
Axe Interpreter
   > Core: Done
   > Memory: Need write code to add constants.
   > Graphics: Rewritten.  Needs to integrate sprites with constants.
   > IO: GetKey done.  Need to add mostly homescreen IO stuff.
Croquette:
   > Stomping bugs
   > Internet version: On hold until I can make my website less boring/broken.

Hmm...I have a rubik's cube, a rubik's magic, and a rubik's 360.
And can solve all of them.
I still want to get a 4*4 or 5*5, though...
That or the mirror block

my rubik's 360 currently has a ball stuck with one of the metal weights, blocking up a hole and stopping the thing from spinning, so yeah, I can't do much.  :P
