If you have not seen the movie Serenity, you gotta go see it. :ru13z:king2.gif

You will not be disappointed. In my opinion, this is the best movie of the year (so far). It is a sci-fi flick with a good story, a lot of action, clean but violent, touch of the Matrix, little bit of love, and best of all... funny. Did I mention that it was sci-fi? %)rolleyes2.gif I believe I did.

Hmmm I haven't seen it yet, I never really liked the show (Firefly) that much... well, I am a scifi fan, and everyone keeps saying its so great, I guess I will have to see it...

 It did not have a very wide release. In the USA, it opened in about 2300 screens. In comparison, Shrek 2 opened in about 4100 screens.

Anyway... If it is playing in your town or city, go see it. Great movie!

I agree with the Ranman, Serenity is definitely a worthy scifi movie to go see :)smile.gif

And it explains itself nicely enough for those that have never seen Firefly to not miss out on any of the plot :Dbiggrin.gif

I think in french its a similar title, unfortunately this seems to be a movie that has been out for a while so its no longer played at my local theater :(sad.gif

EXCELLENT movie, just saw it tonight. Best movie I've seen this year, and one of the best scifi movies I've ever seen.

I actually got to see an unfinished version of the movie at a prescreening way back in June. It was awesome then, and it was awesome now. Go see it, then if you haven't already, pick up (or at least rent) the DVDs for Firefly.

It is already gone in my area too. That is too bad for such a good movie.

Well... Hopefully, it should be back in the "Dollar" theaters and on DVD soon.

the show is definitely worth it. pick up the dvd and maybe fox'll bring it back like they did to family guy. On the dvd you get to see all 14 episodes in their intended order with the 1h 30min pilot episode that fox thought wouldnt make a good pilot. I downloaded it and watched the first 2 eps but i want to see it in its origional dvd glory.

btw the Serenity movie is events that happen after the series events. ;D

Yeah, it's a sequel to the series, but I had only seen 2 episodes of the series before and still completely understood the movie. I'm gonna go buy the Firefly DVD soon though. :)smile.gif

 You're not the only one. Being the Firefly/Serenity fan that I am, this is a must have. I'll buy it myself if I have to.

Same here. Gotta get the Firefly DVD, too- unfortunately I'm kinda a late fan.
Btw, if anyone is interested, Sci-Fi Channel is re-running Firefly on Tuesdays from 7-11 (US Eastern time).

I got it a while ago  :evil:devil.gif I had wanted to take my friend to see it again in theater, but it was already out of theaters, so I err... downloaded it :oops:embarassed.gif  I asked for the Firefly DVD for Christmas, my parents couldn't find it around here, but they're still looking.

Well too bad for you.

You gusy hear about the movement for Firefly season 2? Basically a guy is trying to get together the money (plus Whedon and the cast) to initialize it. If it gets off the ground, it will be funded by online sales. If it does well enough there, it will go to cable.

Ima waiting for the second run. There is a small second run theater in the next town that only costs $3.00 to see a movie. \o/ Or, you can by a 20 pack of tickets for $20. It's really ueber. Also, there is a mural of chewbacca in the men's restroom. What's cooler than seeing a chewbacca while you pee?! XDgni.gif

There's an explanation on the site if that's the one. Yeah, that's the one... or not, the last time I was there he was sending people's money back because apperantally there cannot be a season 2... hmm... what happened? Well now... I guess it's back and going, though it hasn't been updated since 2005... FOLLOW THE 10 STEPS!
