Short Films
« on: October 09, 2010, 12:07:43 am »
i particularly enjoy short films as a media because of the at a glance insight they can give into humanity. when compressed into a short time period, things tend to stand out much more clearly. here is one very good example:
Please Say Something

or even better, Jim Henson's The Cube(although some people may classify it as a full length film)

a wonderful place to look, if you're interested in this type of thing, is VODO(although i can't vouch for everything there...)

anyone else have favourites?

They are cool, though I can't think of any that stand out, off the top of my head anyways.

My friends and I had to make one for our Short Fiction class last year though that was based off the short-story The Necklace.

The 4 Wallace and Gromits: A Grand Day Out, A Close Shave, The Wrong Trousers, and I forgot the other, but it wasn't the were-rabbit.

I LOVE Wallace and Gromit. I saw all of the first three, but I unfortunately do not remember the fourth one either.

that is absolutely terrifying. did anyone else happen to see that imax film portraying the universe, as seen from the hubble, in 3d?

hmm, let me see if this works

Some of those are interesting. To reply to shmibs I kinda wish I lived closer to Imax. The one in Quebec city requires like 3 city buses transfers x.x
