SirCmpwn vandalizes Axe Parser forum
« on: August 18, 2011, 12:55:15 pm »
It has come to our attention that last night, not only SirCmpwn cracked the IRC channel to take over and ban everyone from it, but he also deleted the entire Axe Releases topic that contained all Axe Parser downloads from version 0.2 to 1.0.2. This happened before he was demoted and permanently banned from the forums.

This went unnoticed until one of our staff Deep Thought received an e-mail notification from the thread in question, saying that Drew Devault deleted it:

Quote from: Email notification
Topic removed: Latest Updates (***DO NOT POST HERE!***)
A topic you are watching has been removed by SirCmpwn.

Regards,
The Omnimaga: The Coders Of Tomorrow Team.

As no administrators are currently online to repair the damage, Axe Parser is no longer available for download here for the time being. To get version 0.5.3 (the latest stable one), you will have to download it from ticalc.org for the time being.

We do not know how long it will take before the other versions return. If SirCmpwn only deleted the entire topic, it should be very easy to fix, but any other damage such as post editing (which requires restoring backups of the thread to repair) could take a while longer to fix. Sorry for the inconvenience this might cause.

UPDATE: Juju was able to repair the damage easily by moving it back from the trash bin, the topic is now back where it was before in the Axe Parser forum. Happy downloading and sorry for the inconveniences.

I don't even have words...

I have 1.0.2 on my calculator and I think the documentation that goes with it somewhere in My Documents, if that'll help.

EDIT: I did. Here it is.

I wonder how nobody noticed it, but either way, it's terrible!

It's not often used (only when someone wants to download a new copy of Axe, and no update's been released that recently). The only reason I found out was because I had that on my subscription list.

Hope it gets fixed soon :/

BlakPilar I would not recommend the 1.0.0 branch for now, because some are unstable, but maybe some people might still want it anyway. Hopefully Juju shows up soon but I think he had something to do today so idk. Eeems or aniother admin might be able to restore the thread, assuming no further damage were done to posts.

Also Ephan there are many threads and few Axe releases, so it can be missed at first. Deep Thought happened to have e-mail notifications enabled for that topic so he got notified when Sir deleted it.

I added the e-mail notification quote to the first post by the way. I didn't even know the forums notified of those.

Admins should check in the thrash bin to see if he didn't delete other topics as well.

   > Graphics: Rewritten.  Needs to integrate sprites with constants.
   > IO: GetKey done.  Need to add mostly homescreen IO stuff.
Croquette:

I know they're not recommended, but I like to have the newest things. Anyway, like we said, if people want it, I edited my post with a link :) (it wouldn't let me attach anything)

Thanks Michael. And yeah for some reasons I can't attach files to topics I didn't start.

No problem.  I also have a few 0.4.x versions I could upload, if anybody desperately needs them ( 0.4.1 and 0.4.8 )

0.0.1 is still available actually. Quigibo originally uploaded it in the main thread instead of releases.

Also any idea why the KnightOS/tiDE sub-forums content are still not in other calc projects/ideas, why those forums still exists on both the board index and the EzPortal blocks and why is SirCmpwn still listed as CoT on the About page? ???

EDIT: Juju thanks a lot. Are u sure he didnt edit any of the post though? Check for recent edits.
