Well, Kamelot (who made Golden Sun RPG series for the GBA) once sent a cease and desist letter to Tenniskid493, who was Omni staff, forcing him to rename and edit his TI-83+ Golden Sun clone by removing any trace of the content. This happened with Space Station Pheta on Revsoft and in 1998 with Monopoly 83, but the latter two could eventually be put back online after their respective authors worked an agreement with the respective companies.

It depends of the company and who runs them at the time. Valve, for example, allows any Portal clone as long as they are free.

Yeah I guess you're right. Though with so many fan made content available on Internet I don't see why Hasbro would forbid MLP games.

If i understand it correctly they only forbid 'em if 'characters' are in them, as in, no Fluttershy, no Rainbow Dash etc.

We are calc coders, aka underground guys that nopony cares about so Hasbro probably won't ever notice us. :P
The world hardly knows about us. I was programming some Lua (on my secret project!) while on the train the other day, one of my friends noticed the long bytes for images and asked can't you just embed the image into the Lua program. I had no other explanation as he thought I was coding for PC so I told him it was for calculator, at the same time bringing up the kArmTI emulator. He mostly had no idea what I was really doing,

How would an MLP game work without the ponies. Actually I remember on the inside cover of one of my really old CD-ROM games there was an assortment of game covers including one of MLP, though the ponies looked quite different.

@Jonius: It could have ponies, they'd just have to be original characters.

It would definitively be weird to see a MLP calc game by bronies that lacks any of the main chars of generation 4. One thing I wonder, though, is if you could do like Final Fantasy 1 and 3 for the NES and just give the chars no name (let the user name the char) but try to make them look 90% similar to the show and replace Equestria by The World or something?

One sports game in particular didn't include a single player name because they were not allowed to, so only their numbers and positions were used.

Another example is the Journey to Silius game for the NES, which is a Terminator game but couldn't use the name due to not being able to use the license.

True, but even then, it's best to ensure that the game can easily be modified if they ever notice. For example, that Golden Sun: The Chosen One game that got C&D'ed on Omni was renamed to The Chosen One and the char/dungeons renamed, but he didn't have to delete any trace of the game like that one Chrono Trigger 3D remake a that some people planned to release a few years ago.

Hmm I was thinking later it might be that. I guess whenever Zelda is mentioned, I'm not the only one who thinks about game consoles. Then I remember Total War is a big RTS game series (one which I would like to get into), but I've been spending too much time on other strategy game series such as Sid Meier's Civilization. :) ;) :)

If there ever is a time to get into Total War, now is definitely it. Rome II: Total War is releasing in September. There's very high expectations for it, since the original Rome: Total War is perhaps the most popular in the series. (Despite all the best mods being for Medieval II and Empire/Napoleon Total Wars)

Yeah apparently that's a Total War mod.
ah ok I am not familiar with the game Total War, but I know many people made hacks of Zelda for the SNES.

Yeah, it's a total conversion mod for Medieval II: Total War. It's much fun. And the detail and lengths they went to are very impressive.

Imma Cat! =^_^= :3 (It's an emoticon now!)

Spoiler For IMPORTANT NEWS!:
Late last night, Quebec was invaded by a group calling themselves, "Omnimaga". Not much is known about these mysterious people except that they all carried calculators of some kind and they all seemed to converge on one house in particular. Experts estimate that the combined power of their fabled calculators is greater than all the worlds super computers put together. The group seems to be holding out in the home of a certain DJ_O, who the Omnimagians claim to be their founder. Such power has put the world at a standstill with everyone waiting to see what the Omnimagians will do...

Wait... This just in, the Omnimagians have sent the UN a list of demands that must be met or else the world will be "submitted to the wrath of Netham45's Lobster Army". Such demands include >9001 crates of peanuts, sacrificial blue lobsters, and a wide assortment of cherry flavored items. With such computing power stored in the hands of such people, we can only hope these demands are met.

In the wake of these events, we can only ask, Why? Why do these people make these demands, what caused them to gather, and what are their future plans...

Ok so he only had to change names ? It seems fair to me since a calc game can only use original graphics anyway due to the nature of the screen (color calcs and Nspire classic aside).

Yeah, seeing as MLP as a long history, here's the cover of the game I was talking about, going all the way back to 1998! (Wow, some old games I must have to be advertising that stuff): http://i2.listal.com/image/618415/600full-my-little-pony-friendship-gardens-cover.jpg

Goddamn, now I feel like watching MLP :o

That sounds great! I only heard of Total War possibly 2 years ago, when I saw a screenshot of huge armies, and I was like what is that game? Looks like an epic RTS. Well I'll see what I can do about trying some Total War stuff, but I'm still addicted to Civilization IV :o

So I finally went to the water park today after a few weeks of delay and it was very fun. :D I am exhausted, though X.x (especially since I had to wake up at 6 AM to get there).
