Thank goodness we have E bay!

I just bought a TI 84 plus silver addition with connecting cable kit for 96 american dollars! I like it when things are cheap! They usually go for around 130-150 dollars!

Don't we all? :) Anyways my old 84 plus crashed, so I figured it was time to get a new one, and I do like the silver edition!

the operating system got to the point that it wasn't able to update, or connect to the computer. It can be fixed but its easier to just buy a new one.

wait until the school year is out.
Calc prices drop so hard.

I got my Nspire noncas clickpad for $30.
Good price if i do say so myself.

Did you try removing a battery, and hold down del while placing it back in?

This might help: http://clrhome.tk/tutorials/crash/
Just as a note--it's not the OS that handles the updating, it's the Boot code.  If the OS is corrupted it's still a relatively easy fix.
Have you tried the battery+del trick above?

btw it's pretty useful having two similar calcs, you can test out calc-calc programs, backup without using a computer, etc :)

Yeah it could most likely have been fixed easily with our help, unless it was like p2's calc. It would have saved you a lot of bucks too. Unless you ran OSKill and had your certificate deleted as well beforehand, it's still possible to recover from any crash. Heck, I think even with no certificate and OS there might be ways to recover your calc.

As for connection issues, sometimes even the new calc will have them too. Sometimes it just requires formatting the entire computer to fix them, because linking softwares are just like this. X.x

Having two calcs is a good thing if you have lots of important programs like math ones or a project you're working on, though, because you can use one of them as backup source without having to constantly connect your calc to the computer everytime your memory gets corrupted.

That said, Ebay is a nice place to buy stuff providing you check the seller reputation (it has to be above 98% in most cases). I got my Nspire Clickpad for about $50 cheaper online, even brand new. A 84+SE where I live costs $177 plus taxes (15%)x.x.

Pull out a battery, and hold DEL while reinserting it. Then try to resend the operating system.
