The Latest Ubuntu Installer Rocks
« on: July 25, 2011, 12:15:41 am »
This thing is just about the most badass installer of all time.  I'm composing this post during the install.  Not only does it provide a great means to install the operating system in the first place, it has a link to visit ubuntu.com/support, which, when clicked, opened up Firefox in the middle of the install.  Not kidding.  I've fallen in love with Ubuntu's installer.

I could even take a screenshot.

Well, that's cool. I always loved how you can do other stuff while Ubuntu is installing.

Remember the day the walrus started to fly...

I finally cleared my sig after 4 years you're happy now?

It's the same thing when you're uninstalling too. You can keep on running applications until the system can no longer support them. So over time the gui starts to fall apart and other features disappear but luckily firefox tends to work till just about the end

List of stuff I need to do before September:
1. Finish the Emulator of the Casio Prizm (in active development)
2. Finish the the SH3 asm IDE/assembler/linker program (in active development)
3. Create a partial Java virtual machine  for the Prizm (not started)
4. Create Axe for the Prizm with an Axe legacy mode (in planning phase)
5. Develop a large set of C and asm libraries for the Prizm (some progress)
6. Create an emulator of the 83+ for the Prizm (not started)
7. Create a well polished game that showcases the ability of the Casio Prizm (not started)

Yeah, that surprised me when I was installing it because that version of Ubuntu was my first linux OS. Now I just need to install drivers for my laptop's wireless and I'll use it more...

lol, my favorite line in omnomIRC "in the middle of the damn install".

That's awesome.  I have 10.10 or something like that, and it keeps popping up asking me if I want 11.04.  If it didn't kernel crash last time I did that, and be the worst pain ever getting my system back. Of course, I could click "never again" or whatever, but what if I changed my mind. Ah, the agony!

It's not such an annoying frame in my opinion :)

If you changed your mind you could just update from the Terminal.

That's possible.
The last time I wrote him a PM, he answered 3 days later.
But I'm sure he's every day on.

Too much PMs?

Those are all read, not unread.  I usually respond as soon as I see them, but sometimes forget.
