This is why Omnimaga will most likely always remain ad-free

O.O

I also saw that happen on Invisionfree, shortly after the old Omnimaga board closed. I kinda feel bad for TI-BANK, since they use a free hosting provider, thus, cannot get rid of ads (you get what you pay for).

Indeed. D:

Ad sites picks random ads based on your site content, but sadly, it's not 100% accurate. It may base its search on the keyword "male" or "female" instead of "cable" and "link port", for a while, and that can give a wide variety of results. Usually you have to report these ads, but then new ones comes up, so it's an endless fight...

It's interesting how an ad can easily destroy the reputation of a website.

Yeah. If a teacher notices bad content on a site, he can report it and the site gets in trouble and loses visitors...

I was very shocked when I saw the ads ... -_-'
I think it will reduce the number of visitors (those who go will see news from other sites) as the failure of PHP4.

Yeah, blatant pr0n, apparently. Earlier I got dating ads too. Hopefully the ad company fixes it. I would hate if TI-BANK got a bad reputation, but again, a lot of people have ads blocked. It's just that some people are not familiar with the Internet and may literally think TI-BANK promotes adult material, which is not the case.

I don't think the PHP4 failure has reduced anything.
Also, unlike other sites hosted by Free.fr, you shouldn't have gotten 500 errors on TI-Bank for over a month.

I've developped a TI-Bank specific script which does switch between the PHP4 and the PHP5 servers if one of them is down.
The only problem could be if both servers were down at the same time, which hasn't happened up to now.

That's really bad, I couldn't possibly imagine such ads here in Ominaga :(

That's an interesting script you have. I wish 1and1 500 Internal Server Errors were due to PHP itself instead of MySQL database server, so maybe we could have switched from PHP5 to 4 when needed on my other website. Omnimaga could never do that because some code is different between PHP4 and 5 (OmnomIRC) but TIMGUL could. At least I'm glad TI-BANK doesn't have as many downtimes.

The more hardware-related a site is, the worse the ads get O.O

Here the ads would probably be more gambling services ;D But you never know.

I am more worried about what ads we would get while browsing the Randomness board, especially if someone decides to check the oldest topics, such as this one...
