Right now I have like a ton of projects and tons more floating around in my head. Do any of you ever have this problem of you start one project just to have another great game idea to want to work on?
-
not on my side. I know tifreak8x have so many projects atm O_O (I need to add forums for them) and when dysfunction was programming calcs he always had two projects at once. Kalan too, tenniskid have the forum RPG and TCO
-
lol, I don't even know how many projects I truly have going on...
-
same here...I have a list of lists of games Id like to make somewhere...
-
I have one more game that I want to make after I get everything else done, but it will be a surprise, and I don't want to tell what it is incase I don't get around to it...
-

nintendo wars (PC)

maby I should start a devoment team
so I could get people to help me B)

The question is; is it a good thing or a bad thing? I'll go for the first. Personally I'm having the "luxury" of only doing one thing at a time now.
-
I used to have the same problem. At one point I think i had like 4 or 5 projects at the same time.
-
I don't have many projects, but I don't work on them often enough.
-
Yeah, I pretty much only have Bomberman. I might start something else too, though.....
-
Its not the fact that I have too many projects, its just that all of my projects are always huge. Right now I dont know how long its gonna be before I get the forum RPG done and up, my new goal is to have it done before summer (I know a long way off) but I'd like to have it done sooner to help with the transition to the new site and to try to encourage a lot of new members. I'm still looking for both javascript help and graphics help, if your even somewhat skilled at either, let me know and we'll get this game up sooner. The biggest problem is that its so big and I can never find more than 1-20 mins to work on it a day so it takes me forever, and then I lose motivation and go for a week without working on it and then i get even further behind. Also, I still need to learn php and mysql to get the whole saving thing working, so it's a huge project.
-
Oooh, PHP/MySQL? *volunteers*
Heh. I not only have too many projects, but too few skills to implement them. Even with seven friends helping me out on them all.
-
well, if you'd like some pseudo coding/ methodising I could help but JS its self is such a variatibly odd beast to work with I don't think Id be much help to your coding effort as I would not code like you and ice versa.
I'd like to help with graphics but you'll have to wait till I graduate (a few weeks)

My issue is typically with having time to program, but I guess in my case I have too many projects that can be handled given the amount of time I have :(
-
I try to keep my projects at a maximum of 1 per system at a time. Right now I have 1 PC project and 1 83+ project. I don't get a lot of time to program, and I'd never get anything done at all if I had more than that. O_O

1st post for me!
ya, im only working on Zelda for now. I usually work on more, but ive decided to focus on Zelda for the time being. im not counting the prgming i do in java though.
-
I am gonna add a Zelda sub forum again now
-
I have plans for many projects: http://artraid.com/alex/index.php/day5/ Right now I'm working on two of them simultaneously, the shooter game and the racing game. The other three are just ideas. I think it's good for a beginner programmer to have many projects, because different projects raise different challenges, and what you learn from one project you can carry onto the next one, and so on.

Yeah, I wish I had more time. Sometimes I HATE having a life :D
-
I need more motivation and clean my mind of the stuff that happened
-
Yeah, we discussed that a lil bit last night Kevin, hope you take some of the advice into consideration. ;)

Edit: Zelda subforum created

I tend to stop half-way through a project to swithc to something cooler. Right now I have a book to write, several programs to write, a website to manage, a TCG to make, a map to make, and school.
-
I tend to create a new project when I am bored, that is why I have a lot of projects going on.
-
I have 5 projects atm which are public at boolsoft board, 2 of them are as good as finished. On my HD, there are about plus 3 or 4 projects for TI, 2 for PC and some website stuff.
The result: I didn't work on Shadow Falls for more than 6 months..
-
Haha, that's almost exactly the same for me :P
. I have 5 that are announced, plus I need to redo my site and update/optimize/fix my old projects! So yeah, I haven't touched Res in like 4 months now...
-
Funny :D

But I don't feel like updating my page - the stuff I talked about is just for pleasure and to become more familar with PHP.
-
Hehe, I am working with css/xhtml and doing a poor job at it :P
. I need to convert my site from using tables for layout into one that uses divs!
