Ok, well, I've changed my mind and I'm getting a Droid :)

So far it's looking like:
  • Samsung Galaxy S, (my friend has one and I liked how light it was)
  • HTC Wildfire S,
  • T-Mobile G2x,
  • Motorola DEFY, or
  • Samsung Vibrant

The Galaxy is awesome, but it's very expensive, right?

I have a terrible memory, but I think it was $100 with a new 2-year contract. It's not that bad, especially considering how much smartphones are.

EDIT: Yeah, $99.99 with a new 2-year contract. See here.

... and I'll be going with the iPhone 5 ;D
Nnnnooooooooo!!! D:

Almost everyone I've talked to that has an iPhone says that it's great at the beginning, but eventually it gets crappy. My best friend has had his less than a year and right now the vibrate button and function are kaputt, the screen is slightly unresponsive (enough to be annoying), and the calling quality has gone down since he got it.
It is the same with my ipod touch. The home button is unresponsive, sometimes I press it once and it registers as a double press, bringing up the app-switcher, other times I have to press it a few times to get it to register anything. When browsing the web, the whole thing often freezes up for a few seconds, and 50% of the time, the keyboard is laggy, I can type in a whole sentence and then a few seconds later, it will only then register the keypresses all at once. Not to mention it often gets very hot when playing 3D games (130F on the outside, over the cpu area.) I have to hold my hands away from that spot so I don't trap more heat in there.
I have an Android -- a Samsung Captivate.

I'm pretty happy with it -- I've been stuffing all sorts of apps into it.  Somebody actually made a metal-detecting app (and it actually (sort of) works).
How???

I know this hasn't been replied to in a while, but it's better, IMO, to post it here.

After many changes in our cell phone choosing by my parents, we went with Verizon and I got the HTC Droid Incredible 2! :D The only thing is, I'm having problems installing the Android SDK :(

I would love the HTC Sensation. It has great build quality and a DUAL CORE PROCESSOR!!! But I see that your budget is limited to $150, so that might not be possible.

BTW, I have a Samsung Sensation, just like z80man. I got tetris on it using this special file transfer software. It doesn't support apps natively, though.

Are you wondering who Sammy is? My avatar is Sammy.

No budget lol. I had Tracfone, but as of two days ago I have Verizon. The HTC Droid Incredible 2 (which I'm using to type this) was USD$200 but my mom works at a hospital so I got 25% off.

EDIT: Er, no budget anymore lol. Now I just need to get the Android SDK to realize I have the JDK installed... Grr...

My dad works for microsoft, so if I get a smartphone (a possibility now that I'm starting high school) it'll probably be a WP7 one as there is an employee discount. I could probably install android on it though.

A WP7 was my first choice because I have a Zune, which I love, but after looking at the apps, I decided to get an Android.

You also need it to be in the path, but I remember that on Windows, there was a secret thing to make it work on the setup, you had to go previous and then next or something.

On Linux it worked perfectly for me :) Installing programs on Windows is too hard.

Either way, congrats on your new acquisition!
