What if I had known in 2001 that this would happen?
« on: December 24, 2013, 06:02:56 am »
No offense to anyone who love Omnimaga and to whatever positive impact that it might have gotten on the rest of the TI community, but I sadly have to conclude my TI programming career on this note:

"What if, back in 2001, I knew that I would devote the next 12 years of my life into working on Omnimaga, trying everything to make it great and friendly and contributing several TI-83+ RPGs and programs, only to constantly see someone or a group of people try in every way possible to nullify my efforts or to demotivate me from doing so?"

Then:
1) Omnimaga would never have opened
2) I would never have bothered learning to program for those $150+ calculators

I know that people like Omni, but if in 2001 I knew that every now and then I would have to go through the shit that some people (including some big community figures sometimes) gave me sometimes, then I would never have bothered about anything calc-related at all.

Now it's too late to come back, but if I had a wayback machine, I think that given the lack of respect I received tonight (mostly in private), instead of going back in time right before the Lua vs Ndless incident one month ago, I would just go way back in 2001 then TI community history would have been rewritten, with no trace of myself nor my contributions.

To the people concerned (I won't name anyone but you know who you are), continue like this, and maybe a wayback machine won't be needed, at one point (although since Omnimaga cannot be undone, now being under stable admin hands, only my posts/uploads would be lost, and I would need to redo four music album covers to change the logo). Otherwise, for the time being, those people are also undoing all the progress I had made on my mental state since December 23rd 2010 and it is clear right now that those people are trying to do everything possible to make me blow up.

I know this subject is a bit touchy, but it's a bit sad to hear that after all your good work, your efforts are not being appreciated well enough.
IMO you are (and have been) without a doubt the real disk jockey (DJ) of the Omnimaga community. Maybe you're just expecting a bit too much from some members...
My humble advice: take a break for a while, enjoy a nice Christmas season with your close friends and comeback with a fresh and happier mind sometime later.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2014! :)

The problem here is that DJO exploded once again.
He sees pejorative remarks whenever he is getting contradicted.
If this occurs too many times in a row, he feels guilty and wants to show the rest of the world he will suicide because he thinks everything he does doesn't deserve critisism, even if he knows he's not perfect.

That said, i'm pretty sure its a way of mind bareer : you're looking the world in a positive vector, and "bad" things are zero vectors.
Others see the world as a relative vector of exactitude : said bad things have to be reviewed, every single badly placed comma need to be announced.

Thus, the first kind of ppl feels stopped when receiving too many remarks in a row because they're not used to not push forward.
On the other hand, the 2nd kind of ppl don't see any problem in correcting false statement, even if they recieve those, because they're used to live in a relative world, both positive and negative.

DJ, take that in consideration : both those ppl are needed to grow a perfect world. If positive guys didn't exist, we would'nt grow. If relative guys never existed, the world would look like a non-sense where every mistakes is not said, where everything you do, even if its bad, receive compliments.
You are the complete opposite of the person you don't want to mention, remember that, this is not about him being perfect and you being piece of crap, no !

I don't want to commit suicide. The one time I was on the verge of doing it was on Dec 23rd 2010, and Eeems/Juju sent the cops at my home for a 18 hours trip to the hospital. Those were horrible times, which were the result of many bad events over the course of late 2009-2010. Those times were horrible. I simply don't want to lose all the progress I have made since 2010 because of a never-ending series of bad events, putting me at risk again, and IMHO some people are not helping at all (by the way your accusation on 3rd line about how I beg for attention was not a good way to help). Omni already lost Tribal to suicide a few months ago. I was doing so good in the last two years or so and all the weigth that I lost in 2010, which was about 15 pounds, well, I got it back now.

By the way, I am fine with a bad remark or two, but repeatedly doing it for a month or two is harrassment to me and it's enough to put me down. Also the way some people acted last night, it was hard to tell if they were legitimately reprimanding me in a wrong way or outright trolling.

I don't want to do that again either... It was nearly Christmas and that was nearly traumatic for me, calling the police and all in the middle of the night and actually, I think I had a hard time to make them understand what's going on... But at the end I was glad I did that, just to save my friend. DJ, you're pretty much my best friend I don't want to lose you... And neither anyone here.

Also harassment is serious business and shall be dealt with seriously, even if it's at the cost of losing an important partnership on Omnimaga.

I don't think harrassment has anything to do with partnership loss there. Only admins truly know. The harrassment thing was more a side issue between me and one member (which ultimately even involved some, perhaps unintentional, form of PM block list circumvention).

I don't want to commit suicide.
I know, but then, don't put that in a public post in order to give importance to the message you want to be read.
Your exact terms were "If it doesn't stop I will suicide". This can't lead to serious talks...
The thing is, that person was telling you "it's not X, it's Y because Z", nothing wrong there, and then you answered on a way more extreme position than it should have been ...

And then, here, you're writting a requiem for what you've done since 12 years, this has nothing to do with the initial problem. Maybe there is something you want to express you can't ?

Btw, for others, I'm not involved in this, and it has nothing about parterships, it has just been pubicly posted (and then moderated) on TI-Planet (IIRC on Omni & Cemetech too ?) serveral hours ago.
I do not get mad at people, I just want them to learn the way I learnt.

I can't find this quote (or anything else meaning the exact same thing) in my posts above ???

Google Translate fail, I think.

It was in the spam you posted on TI-Planet, just before you posted here.

BTW, I don't use Google Translate since couple years now, I'm fine with english.

Yes, I recall seeing it too, but I guess it was on Ti-Planet.
And YOU did, in the post that got removed say "Thank you for trying in every way possible to make me feel suicidal and killing myself."...

"Thank you for trying in every way possible to make me feel suicidal and killing myself." != "Thank you for making me feel suicidal and killing myself".

Besides, I was extremely pissed when I wrote that post, so the entire post was written out of anger (although I still have a negative opinion of the person it was directed at, and I'm not alone). I still have a long way to go before starting to feel suicidal, by the way, because normally, when I feel that way, I am hiding almost everything (notice how rarely I blowed up in late 2010 compared to the rest of the year).

I am locking this topic right now because you two are being unnecessarily confrontational (perhaps a trolling tactic to make people feel bad on purpose?) right now. While I liked some of your suggestions and views, the false accusations to make me look emo are uncalled for.

(PS: Yes that out of anger topic and the spam was posted on all three forums simultaneously. Given that Cemetech is normally the last forum on which I would post such thing, especially that they were not involved at all, and that it's the first Omni topic to be deleted in 7 years, this can tell that I was pissed to some never seen before extents)
