I bet a few people here that I tend to talk to a lot in private since a while ago knows this, since I told them before or they witnessed the effects of it at least once.

Most of you know I dislike bullies or people who tries to mess with others to the point of making them blow up. I also hate most thieves and I really despise when people try to prove me wrong, insisting, even though I am right. HOWEVER, there's one thing in particular that I hate even more, by far, and I really can't get over it and in the past 5 years or so I grew a huge hate for this. It's people who ignore me on purpose when it's time to discuss something important, when it's time to solve an issue between us and that talking would possibly solve it! I hate that with a passion, and this is because it happened so many times to me in the past 5 years and also at school back in the days. One prime example is after a false accusation by family members of trying to cause troubles in particular to my father, which we never did, and he never wanted to hear anything, which cut any link between us. I think this is when I started to grow a hate about being ignored on purpose during important matters.

I can understand if you are busy with homework and your job, have limited internet access, but when somebody has a lot of free time suddenly and I even see him posting non-stop on a forum, then he does this, knowing fully that I will hate that, well, if you were friend with me and this happens repeatedly, don't expect the friendship to continue afterward. In fact, you may end it forever and anyone who does this to me will probably lose my trust for good too. I will never pardon you that.

At least, if you happen to check your inbox/IRC queries but you don't know what to say or have no time to reply, at least tell it! Then my anxiety level won't shoot up, checking the site every 10 minute for a possible answer. If you really want to kill me, this is one of the best way to do it in long term, with bullying pretty far behind (although that one already have done most of its effect already in the past anyway).

There's an obvious difference between being busy and not doing an effort, and it's obvious when someone isn't doing any effort. When you have to fight so that somebody checks his messages/emails for a minute instead of just lurking on the forums, posting during half an hour, it's clear the person isn't respecting you IMHO.

Anyway I just wanted to let this out, because this happened again recently a few times (with a few people) and I built up a lot of anger since the past two weeks, which is why, despite the lack of bad online/offline incidents and work increase lately, I've been easily irritable or my forum activity remained sporadic.

Yeah, being ignored sucks... They try to annoy you by doing absolutely nothing, which is annoying. Fortunately, I'm far from being one of those persons.

I did this, and I regret.
However, I thought it was what you hated most...

Yeah I really don't like that either, although today I don,t mind as much because this rarely happens anymore. This mostly happened last year. An example was when many people tried to convince me the 83+ screen was 95x63 and I threatened to post a pic numbering all pixel row/col to prove my point. I don't mind if someone tries to prove be wrong but then realizes he was wrong, since everybody makes mistakes, but I hate when someone insists that he's always right even when he isn't. I met so many people like that where I live.

I know many people like that and they all arr real assholes. Most will get very angry if you say they are wrong because they are so convinced they are right. I know I make mistakes all the time just like everyone else(except maybe the CoT team ;))

Ouch this sucks. But yeah thankfully I did not have this happen much lately. Really, though, what really pisses me off is when people deliberately leaves me no chance to discuss with them, try to avoid important discussions or simply do no effort to notice them. I mean, if you're too busy, then fine, but if you spend an entire hour on the forums, checking new posts and even replying to some about 20 times that day, and you don't even bother, during that entire time, to check if you got important discussions going on, being busy isn't really an excuse there.

By the way something similar happened in the past on Omnimaga with the staff forums. Almost nobody in the CoT and admin team would ever bother to check the staff forums, even on days where out of 10 daily active topics there were two in the staff forum. I decided to make it a rule to check it, to no avail, then later I made those sub-forums so their title shows in red color. The admin board (which I cannot see currently) shows up in green, because when I added it, managers would notice the two other staff forums, but not that one.

Thankfully the staff board issue stopped, though. I just had a lot of people do what I described in the first post to me in the past two months.

I sometimes ignored PMs for days at a time when I couldn't figure out what to say, whoops :-\

Thanks for the pointers. I'll keep that in mind.

Makes sense, all of it. I don't like it myself if somebody's unwilling to speak about something if they have the time. Though I personally find it more intolerable when people insist and actually believe (thus discarding trolls etc.) something if I have clearly shown that they are wrong. Just me, I guess :/ Can't tolerate those without a decently rational worldview and a sense of the fact that they won't always be right.
But if I ever begin to do that, just tell me. :)

That makes me so mad. I hate it when people have the attitude that they are always right, whatever you say is wrong, and your opinion matters not.

There's also that group of people who will call you names when you don't want to agree with them.

On a side note, when people query me on IRC but I seem idle, it's best to PM me on the forums or e-mail me to let me know about the message, because I may not have my IRC client open, just my znc account. If I had a tab of your nickname open before closing my client, I will see the last few lines you typed when I restart mIRC, though. Also if you PM me on the forums, I generally notice it via my e-mails.
