i was in a story written by a classmate, in which i took the role of a dog. since i have latin at school i translated "wild dog" into latin, and shortened it (ferox = wild canus = dog so aka ferocanus) but later i realized i liked ferox more, but mostly its already in use :(
I like your nickname ♥ That is what it reminded me of, too. My friends tell me I remind them of a husky because of my eyes. Which is cool 'cause that is my favorite kind of canus.

i have actually no other relationship with dogs. although i have to watch my nickname, some sites may reject it because of the "anus" part :P

Oooh, ouch. Yeah, that could cause a problem. Also, I go with my last name as "Elnara" just because I like the sound of it. I've been told that that part makes the name sound almost elven, so I guess that is pretty cool.

X.x, that reminds me when JoeyBelgier used NecroFuckk as nickname on IRC: an IRC op started complaining and threatened to ban him for profanity in nicknames. We moved #omnimaga back to Efnet afterward. I don't really mind such nicknames, as long as they do not contains offensive material such as the N word or things such as I_Love_CP. X.x

I'll tell the true story of my real name now :D

First, it was Alvin, because of a joke where I would spam my friend's FB wall with chipmunk song lyrics, and it caught on as funny.  Then, during bowling one day I decided to go badass and make my name show up as ALVIN THE BADAZZ.  I thought it was cool, but then my friend started talking in riddle and said it backward:  ASHBAD (or ZZADAB, but he was being creative i guess :P) THE ALVIN.  So, then It was ASHBAD_ALVIN.  Then Nikky from ticalc (allynfolksjr) started complaining my name was trollish on the cemetech board in the middle of my TaNF topic (quite rude indeed), and then Kerm simply said to "Ignore the troll" (referring to nikky).  Though then Kerm asked later if I could actually change it, if possible, so I allowed it to be changed to Ashbad.  to stay consistant, I kept it the same everywhere and changed my account's names -- except my ticalc, email address, and PSN accounts.lolwut, now you know the true story O.o

And yes, it did happen in that order :)

That''s much more interesting than my story. I wanted it to be ruler101 on another site but that was already taken so I took ruler501 after the 501st division from star wars. I know its nerdy and boring but thats how I got mine

Heh, great story. For me I just read the hitchhiker's guide and noticed no one else had taken that name on the Internets (as far as I knew back then), so I used it. I think deeply ;D

Later I noticed someone on freenode named DThought, though (and there's also a Deep Thought person on Slashdot), so I might run into problems later on.

EDIT: Seems like I already posted here...

More info, though.

I actually got it from the books which I have over 100 of and have read even more. I am basically the perfect frame for the nerdy kid in school. I do math in my spare time. Use my computer for everything code and read all the time

math... in your spare time?  That's very lame for a nerd.  A REAL nerd would write a overly complex assembly program to solve it for them 10x slower instead :( you disappoint me deeply...

When I was 8, I really really wanted a pet lizard. My friend had a pet toad which she had named Fribbet. I thought that was the coolest pet name ever so I tried really hard to think up of an equally awesome name for my lizard. I came up with squidget. Ironically, I never got the lizard. When it came time to sign up for my first email account a few years later, that was what I wanted to use. Unfortunately, it was already taken (blasphemy D:<). I knew I could just add some number to the end of it, but I didn't want to. I wanted to be different. I wanted to have a unique username. I wanted to not use numbers in it. So my 10 (or 11? I don't remember) year old mind came up with the brilliant idea of putting an X on the end. And that's what I've been using ever since :P

For some reason there is some girl on Twitter with my username. How annoying <_<

oh and btw, I prefer it to be in all lowercase. no capitalizing of the s or x if you can help it, thank you ;)

I forgot to say I write programs on my notebook paper that are usually over elaborate and partially useless. I run out of paper really fast. I am also a seventh grader who has taught himself most of the advanced math he knows and is now learning calculus. Am I still disappointing? If that still didn't work I code in multiple languages at once sometimes. It gets annoying when I try to type in a python/C++ hybrid program so many errors

that is an interesting story squidgetx I have a lizard he has the very creative name of Max

I remember people on OmnomIRC often refered to your all caps nickname when you showed up, lol. I kinda prefer it in lowercase, though, since it's easier to follow discussions on IRC. :P
