Whoa, what did I miss?

Hey guys, it's been a while since I kinda just disappeared. Basically, I finished up my semester at college, spent lots of time in vain at getting a job, played a good amount of video games, and joined the Air Force. Currently I'm in the DEP (Delayed Enlistment Program) and waiting for a slot to open up so that I can be sent down to MEPS for processing and all that fun stuff. Since I now have some more freedom in spending my time (at least until I get sent to Boot Camp) I figured I'd catch up with what's going on here since I left. I'd like to get back into some programming and maybe some spriting as well while I'm still here. What I'm wondering is:
- Are there any new developments with Axe?
- Are there some awesome new programs/games that I got to try out?
- Did I miss anything regarding people's projects for which I sprited for?
- Any spriters show up while I was away?
- Where did all those smileys come from?

Feel free to put anything else that is worth mentioning that I forgot to include here.

hey again, magic! when did you decide to go join the airforce? o_0
anyways, there has been one minor update to axe while you were away (or at least i THINK it was while you were away), 1.0 for calc is well underway, and after that quigibo has plans and the beginnings of an on-comp compiler with further capabilities that won't fit in the calc app or aren't feasible to put there.

there was another cage match between ztrumpet and meishe just recently(judging is still going on, so you can go check those out, if you want)

i still haven't done anything with those sprites you gave me, because i was spending too much loafing around/dealing with personal matters/working on school, but i'll get there eventually XD

i don't think there have been any new spriters around

dj decided to bring back some smileys from the old forums, i think, as well as adding a few new ones.

oh, and one other thing (i'll send you a pm)

Well, I was talking to my family about it for several weeks back in October/November and in the beginning of December I stopped looking for jobs and went to the recruiter to fill out a lot of paperwork (there's still a whole bunch more of it though). I don't have the money to continue paying for school and I just can't seem to get a job anywhere near where I live (I've tried just about everything too...) and after a lot of discussion the Air Force turned out to be a great place for me to 'get a jump start'.

I've got 0.4.5 and I'm guessing the latest is 0.4.6, so I'll go pick that up.

Ah yes, the cage matches, those should be interesting to read about.

That's too bad about no other spriters. Do the guys who did them before still do them from time to time?

yumhua yunhua is still here, and necro has been gone forever. i'm not sure who else was really good at that type of thing.

and that sucks about jobs. i spent two years finding the one i have now, and it turns out that i'm being replaced, so i know what's up there :P

EDIT: oh, and, as for other new programs, there is plenty of stuff in the new user uploads section(including HOT_DOG's asm tutorial)

Axe is being improved quickly and the next version will be 1.0.0.
New Programs? Woah, lots!

Spriters... Ashbad is quite good, I also make some sprites for other people now and then, I don't know if the good spriters are new to the forums (if they already know you)

Lets see...  cool-new, must try programs...

-Exodus by ztrumpet- I think that was released after you disappeared.
-Correlation by Hot_Dog - still being worked on, but check the subforum out anyway, very cool, although no demo out yet.
-Pyrrix by Ashbad - He's getting his cable, so final version's almost out, I tried a beta, also very cool.

I'll post more later...

From the previous Omnimaga forums on Invisionfree. About 80 still need to be added, though.

Welcome back by the way. I hope you have more free time in the future and that life gets back on track.

You also missed one heck of a posting activity spike from Late September to Early November and a smaller one earlier this month. O.O
