Why did you choose the username you have...?
« on: February 20, 2007, 12:54:00 pm »
Why did you choose the username you have and what does it represent?  I choose "bfr" because those are the initials for my name (I have a hypenated last name, which allows me to have a total of three initials).  It is also simple, and I can use it for quite a while, and it still would fit me.

When I first started playing computer RPG's five years ago, I had to make a name for my character. My older brother had already made two names for himself (btw, they are "Alberon Lighthand" and "Galactygon") and he helped me find the name "Delnar" from another computer game's boss's name. Since he had a first name and a last name for his character, I decided I wanted a last name, so I started thinking up last names that went well with "Delnar". Eventually, I found "Ersike" and I used the name "Delnar Ersike" for all of the RPG's I played. As I started to play more than RPG's, I used "Delnar Ersike" for my profile names. That name has stuck with me, and some people on the internet actually think it is my real name and tell me, "Cool name!"  %)rolleyes2.gif

There's my story.

I started off as Jou-Pou (lame, but true), because it's very unique (the name wasn't taken on any server or game I ever played), Then I changed for Ghostalker, the C&C: TS GDI overkill unit. Then I changed for Fallen Ghostalker because I led an evil alliance in Ogame. Then I changed for Fallen Ghost because it was nicer, relative to SC: Terran unit and more polyvalent (and shorter) than the previous.

can't remember why I came up with the name, but I started using it for a couple sites, and it just started sticking. When I joined Cemetech, I signed up with it, and from then on really, I felf like I was obligated to use it, as people know me by it now.

btw, I fish for walleyes in a river, hence the name.

hmm, what does trevmeister66 mean...*thinks*
oh yeah:
trev = first 4 letters of my name (and it's 1 syllable, so easy to say)
meister = MASTER in german, which i took for 4 years in school
and 66 = (6 * 11) and (11 = 1 + 1) and (1 + 1 = 2) and (2 + 6 = 8, the month i was born in ;)wink.gif)

P.S. just made that number part up :)smile.gif

mine is from the nintendo forrums...when I first joined, I went under the name earthadept (from golden sun) but got banned for being a jack a**...had no life and so I made a new acount I haven't gotten banned yet called necro_reincarnation...or something like that (I may have misspelled it.)  I rarely go their anymore as I am to tempted to verbaly decimate people who act like complete morons.  I followed kevin here after epc shut down, became staff...and when I joined, shortend my atrociously long user name.  It was a dual meaning originaly, necro being sometimes a corpse and reincarnation...me unbanning my self through a new registry.  It also fits some one as morbid and desensitised as me...though it doesn't capture my practicaly bipolar personality.

at fmr...change it back, change it back!!

I just remembered:  I couldn't log on as FMR for some reason anymore and I had to change it.  So I chose Demon, and had it changed everywhere so that I'd remember it.

Back to FMR I go! :Ptongue.gif  At least in IRC unless I can change it on the forums again, too.....

Hmm...for me it was probably about 1.5 years ago when I had to come up with a MKDS nick for online play, and I chose Cure from the band "The Cure".  The 777 was just amended on somehow (no meanings to me, but I think it was a song name from another band. :Ptongue.gif)

Recently, I've grown tired of seeing numbers in nicks, as it makes it look unoriginal, and it reminds me of all the spam you would get in the old days of dial-up from bots IMing you...

This is when I decided to do away with the number.  Here Omnimaga, a Desu became attached to the end of my nick, to show me love for the Japanese language (roughly translated, it would mean "It's Cure!" or "To be Cure".

On UTI I just completely did away with any suffix, and it made it nice and clean, Cure.  I still need to make some amends to this nick on other forums, but if you see the nicks Cure or Cure777 (CureDesu is only here at Omnimaga) on any forum, say hi.  :Dbiggrin.gif

One day me and some others were talking about pie, and eventually the word radical was used. And me being the nerd thought 'lol radical pi' and it stuck.
One of these days I'll get a sig I'm really proud of.

Lets see... Had mine since 2002, when I created http://groups.msn.com/tifreakware and decided that since I was a freak of nature, and loved TI calcs, that I would go by the name tifreak8x, the 8x meaning lots of different models. On IRC though, I have gotten lazy and changed it to tifreak.

When I first signed up at the Nintendo forums I wanted a Nintendo name. I thought I would pick my favorite series...but absolutely EVERYBODY had a Zelda name, so I picked Kirby.
Then it just stuck...

Halifax just sounds damn cool and everyone knows it. No one can deny it.
