Hmm... After thinking about this for a few minutes, the only things that I can come up with that causes problems on the channel is the rediculous amount of stupid spam... AND, the lack of programming discussions, along with the lack of projects discussion. Granted, we like to have some fun on there, but I think the overall point of the channel itself has been lost. Maybe we should ask people to talk a lil more about programming on there, and less on the spam stuff? Maybe then, things will clean up a bit... :)smile.gif

Lets just not make the channel like #tifreakware is... always with less than 10 people in it, and no one ever chatting... :'(

Mabey if we crack down ultra-hard on spam?
If we follow the IRC stuff in the Staff forum, we could stop this crap.

Actually right now cdi and loki were discussing some basic stuff I didn't understand. :)smile.gif And any irc channel always seems to have more talk about random crap than actual programming anyways lol.

thats true, and I dont want to forbid off topic stuff. Omnimaga is a calc, rpg, gaming and programming (for any platform) chat. but ppl can talk about other stuff as well, as long as its appropriate and if possible not too controversed. As for the spam let's try to use the spam forum as much as possible, i understand sometimes we can go on a random mood tho and its fun, but i mean when its too much its not fun anymore :(sad.gif

and remember I've build this chan all for you guys, plus the other people from other website who want to hang out with us as well, I meant it to be a nice place, like the forums

double post because when I have posted this I missed CDI posts on the previous page

I see your point CDI, and I think you may be right in some ways, I've discussed this on irc mostly actually so my post is gonna be short, but that made me realise more what I did wrong, and what I could try to get the situation back on track. I alerady started by hiding COTs/Managers powers and making the bans invisible and only be triggered when the person joins, so it wont show a list of bans in the ban list. Actually with this ppl are more afraid of getting banned and get nervous, which make lot of tension in the chan. I just wish i wouldnt be that much emphatic/protective toward other peoples, often i cause more trouble than the offending persons, if they are even offending at all, it is just out of my control. Often I ended up banning someone but realised that I did bad and was unfair or harsh, and I end up apologising to the person, and remove it :(sad.gif
