I don't really play drums, but I do write all the music for my band (Which includes drums). I have a good ear for music so I can play what I hear in my head for the most part. It makes composing music easier :)

I play bass, guitar (electric and acoustic), drums sorta, trombone, trumpet/cornet, a little sax (alto), baritone, piano, etc. My dad is a music teacher, so I followed in his steps :) And I compose for most of those instruments. And sorry I only recently got this band together, we are still working out our first ep :P but we do have connections to go record in Tennessee! :)

I play the guitar since 9 (so seven years), and to me, the hardest part was not read notes and all that stuff, but to play it, to move my hands faster enough and have a good coordination, and also to get the feeling and the knowledge for improvising.

Yeah, of course, but you said a few post ago that the most difficult was to learn notes and chords, and I don't find that very difficult compared to the accuracy needed. But maybe it's because I didn't took solfege lessons.

I said reading music is more difficult, and learning chords and stuff was easy, and as far as learning instruments its different for everyone

Yeah, learning to read music is not that bad, it's just like learning how to read.

the point of reading notes is not the reading itself, but the speed of it..

Exactly Nick! Its easy to read notes.....but what is hard is the accuracy of reading music...and playing flawlessly even at fast tempos :) thats where complexity comes in, my dad (music major teacher and performer) once told me that 'Great musicians are the ones that look at music as a new language!'
