YES!!!!!1!11!11!11!11111!!!!1!!!!! I DID IT!!!!1!!!!!!!!
Caps Lock aside, I tested my method of conversion and it worked! I converter a wav file to a mod file without losing any quality whatsoever and even the size is the exact same!
This is great because KermMartian's MobileTunes3 is capable of playing mod-type files, though Kerm hasn't implemented it yet in his midi-to-mt3 converter (mainly because it doesn't work yet). Once he implements it, RealSound might actually have a rival...
There is only one problem: the mod file is the same size as the wav file. I converted a 2:15 long track at 8k kHz 8 bit Mono and it still became 1.1 MB in size. So unless the converter compresses the mod file to at least 2% of its original size, you won't be hearing your favorite mp3 tracks on mt3 anytime soon (even at the lowest quality).
Conclusion: Short wav tracks will be able to be played by mt3 but only at the lowest quality. However, mt3 switches over to an app, there might be some hope for turning your calc more into an iPod than ever before.

So does this mean you can make and play songs with actual instruments like real MIDI now?

MobileTunes3 was made by Kerm to be a music player for DoorsCS. It is kind of like all the other midi on ticalc.org, only that it supports up to 4 channels, the interface is prettier, and the developing is a bit easier. Kerm also made a converter which converted MIDI to code that MobileTunes3 (or MT3 for short) can play, but the converter was (and still is as of now) full of bugs so it was completely useless. During one of his posts, he mentioned that MT3 technically plays MOD by default, as it uses base frequencies rather than preset instruments like MIDI. To my request, he is planning to allow MOD music to be converted as well as MIDI when he gets around to fixing the converter.

so the files have mp3 sizes? Can't it be possible to have midi like style, so its much smaller? A 2 min MIDI is like 40 KB I think, right? Quality could be decreased a bit to reduce the size and since there's 4 channel it must not be that big, right?

DJ, I can't do this trick in midi. That is the whole point in mod: I can use custom instruments in mod rather than having to choose between pre-made instruments in midi.
OK, here is the trick: Since mod files can use custom instruments, you can put any sound in as an instrument. This includes long tracks, too. The instruments can't be in mp3, however (because of compression issues), but they can be in wav. So what I did was convert an mp3 track into wav (using a very good converter), and then load the wav track into modplug tracker as an instrument. I then saved the instrument as a mod file and, voila, I had a mod track that was the exact same as my wav track (only that it was mod now not wav, of course).
I could have went even lower than 8k kHz 8 bit Mono with a different converter, but that one never really worked for me and is a shareware that limits conversion to 3 minutes (I could have went 6k KHz 8 bit Mono with that one, but then the track would sound completely unidentifiable).

Playing music on the calc is still pointless though. Sorry. But cool.
