Techno is more beat with sounds while electronic dance music got melodies, vocals and other stuff, like other music kinda, rather than mostly sounds.

Also I added power metal and death metal to the list.

I myself listen to the following music genres:

The following list starts with my favorites with an example, for those who are not familiar

-'90s Eurodance

-Power metal

-German happy hardcore (speed up '90s eurodance with a more dreamy sound)

-UK hardcore (Evolved from happy hardcore and trance)

-Eurobeat (Evolved form of italo-disco)

-Italo disco (evolved form of disco)

-Eurodance

-Trance from 1999 to 2002

-Happy hardcore

Besides that, I can listen to music from any genre, even country, if I like the chord progression, melody, etc. This is why for example I like one single Madonna, Lady Gaga and two Céline Dion songs, and happen to like some ballads even if I'm normally not into their genre. Here are some songs from genres I normally dislike that I happen to exceptionally like:

Dschinghis Khan - Moskau (Disco)

Céline Dion - Délivre Moi (Rock... and you thought she only had ballads? :P)

Madonna - I'll remember (pop/ballad)

Lady Gaga - Alejandro (R&B/pop/electronic)

With the exceptions of these songs, I do not like most stuff from the 4 artists above.

Like DJ, I have a large variety of musical tastes, with only a few genres I can't stand.  My favorite Artists include Eminem, Van Halen, Chopin, Beethoven, Dizzy Gillespie, Megadeth, DJ Omnimaga, Square Enix, and Clash.  Here is probably my top ten list of songs:

1. Girl Gone Bad -- Van Halen
2. Holy Wars, the Punishment Due -- Megadeth
3. Rock the Casbah -- Clash
4. Destiny Knight -- DJ Omnimaga (Kevin Ouellet)
5. Skating -- Vince Guaraldi
6. Revolutionary in C# Minor -- Chopin
7. "Opus Thirteen" (I forgot the exact name) -- Beethoven
8. While My Guitar Gently Weeps -- Jeff Healy (His version was much improved on the beatles)
9. One Step Beyond -- Karsh Kale (This song is awesome, it's like World-Techno O.O sounds weird and awesome)
10. Hot For Teacher -- Van Halen

The only Sid's that come to mind off the top of my head that are musicians are Syd Barret (Pink Floyd) and Sid Vicious (the Sex Pistols). Or do you mean something/someone else?

@Scout: Yea, they rock! :D
