Need more electronica
« on: May 31, 2010, 10:13:22 pm »
Since all my friends are big electronica freaks, I need to add some more to my library. I started looking into eletrodance, but I'm not really familiar with the whole genre. I found a couple of relevant examples:

I need some recommendations along the same lines. Give me your best shot!

In general, when it comes to electronic dance music, rave music and the like, my favorite type of music would be the following:

Eurodance (I used to like newer stuff, but got bored of it. I prefer 1994-98 eurodance, personally)

German Happy hardcore

(slightly NSFW)

UK happy hardcore

(my favourite happy hardcore song)

UK hardcore/freeform
&fmt=18

Trance (I prefer the 1999-2002 stuff. I never got into the rest)
(I prefer this version than the one with vocals. Sorry for extremly long intro, tho)

House (the only kind of house music I can stand x.x)

Eurobeat (pretty much anything from 1990 to 2002. I never listened to more recent eurobeat stuff yet. My favorite stuff is from 1993-97)

&fmt=18

Italo-Disco (which is the ancestor of eurobeat. I like most stuff from 1985 to 1988 and a few others)

&fmt=18

Btw does anyone know in which kind of electronica music the following would fall into?

I guess it could be electronica since the instruments are all synths
What about my song? (since it doesn't use any real instruments)

It's hard to say the first one would fall under electronica. I would say they're both somewhere between synth-pop / synth-rock. The first one is more of a thematic song. (I'm guessing it's the theme song of this television series)

A bit of '80s new wave stuff generally falls under similar sounds.

aaah ok thanks. Maybe synth pop would be appropriate. And yeah it's the second french theme of that serie (most people prefer the original japaneese or the first french one, but I prefer the second one)
