I know on the old forum some people were interested in power metal and bands like Dragon force and the like, so I though I'd share this new band I came across. The band is called Rhapsody of fire. They are a symphonic metal band and they incorporate alot of elements of classical music into their work. Alot of their lyrics focus on fantasy, and most of the compositon is pretty intricate. If you're into Metal and dont mind alot of instrumental interludes I definitly recommend checking them out .

Ooh I remember listening to this band. If you didn't knew they were formerly known as Rhapsody. But in 2006 they added the "of fire" part (I have no idea why). However Imho the albums quality seems to deteriorate as year goes. I own all their 7 full lenght albums except the compilations with covers and the live album and I only liked the 5 first ones :(

The first 5 ones, especially the 2nd and 3rd are awesome tho and their song called Rain of a thousand flames on their 4th album of the same name is my favourite

I just found out about them. The "of fire" was added on during their most recent album to avoid copyright issues. I've heard that the 2nd or 3rd one is really good and has alot of emphasis on the classical aspect of the music. The one I happend to pick up is their 1st album, "Legendary Tales". I defenitly plan on picking up more of their stuff. Thanks for the info, That'll help me decide on which one to get next. ;)

yeah the first one was great too. The 5th one reminds me the 3rd one, but a bit more agressive.

Does anyone here listen to jazz, or know of any really good jazz bands ? I'm always trying to expand my musical intrest, but I don't really know of many jazz artists (no stations play jazz in my area, and I don't know anyone who listens to jazz here) I generally like upbeat stuff, no slow jazz elevator music stuff . Instrumental only is fine too, in fact maybe preferable in this case . Any suggestions ?

Hey Kevin, I'm really enjoying listening to the music on your myspace music. Is all that stuff from one of ur albums, or is it spread out over different ones?

THanks, glad you like it. The stuff on my profile is stuff from Omnimaga. All tunes are from my last album. You can download all my songs (about 40+) here http://www.netham45.org/omnimaga/originals/ it has better sound quality too. I would suggest checking Nitacku's song called Journey too if you like my stuff, because it's pretty much the same style :D

Art Of The Camelot, I listen to tons of jazz (and fusion, heh).  Check out Trio Of Doom (Jaco + McLaughlin + Tony Williams = *Drool*), Béla Fleck & The Flecktones (though you already probably know them, jazz-bluegrass mix stuff.  Some of the greatest virtuoso's of our time), Dave Brubeck Quartet and John Scofield.  All of those guys are amazing!

Sorry, nothing to give you guys yet. My drummer won't be back in town for another month, so we're gonna try to do a recording then.
