OmniPlayerIII - Calling for music artists
« on: December 01, 2013, 08:10:54 pm »
Yeah, yet another project in the works... Introducing something you waited for since a while...

OmniPlayerIII

Yup, a new rewriting of the famed web music player. Now on the features that distinguishes it from other players:

  • Interface entierely in Javascript! (Now with more AJAX/JSON!)
  • HTML5 audio!
  • Winamp/WMP-like visualizations! (Coming soon!)
  • Search by artist/album!
  • Download links!
  • Links to Facebook/Twitter/Bandcamp! (Coming soon!)
  • Over 4 artists!
  • Integration with Bandcamp! (Not sure if coming soon or not)
  • Clouds! (Coming soon!)

Of course, you must have a fairly recent browser so it works. Please complain only if your browser is up to date. If you want your entire discography to appear there, feel free to PM me and I'll gladly add it! And if you have any idea or issue, feel free to reply on this thread and I'll see if it's possible.

And without further ado, here's the link!

Looks like progress :)
Only feedback I have for now is that the song info writes over the tracklist on smaller screens (such as my 1366x768).

Also guessing the pause button isn't supposed to be ▌▌ :P

D: html5 audio? Firefox doesn't like that.
If you like my work: why not give me an internet?

This seems nice, although it's a shame that it only runs in a few browsers D:

You should add Bfr, Necro, Un Posse, Pass That and Speler by the way (which are in Omnimaga archives)

D: html5 audio? Firefox doesn't like that.
That's probably because most songs are only available in MP3 format. I should convert them in OGG so Firefox will like them. Try DJ Omnimaga's songs, which are already in OGG.

Here is a little modification I did on your css
Code: [Select]
body {
font-family: "Visitor TT1 BRK", sans-serif;
font-size: 15pt;
color: black;
text-shadow: 1px 1px white, 1px -1px white, -1px 1px white, -1px -1px white;
margin: 0;
}
a{
color: black;
}
Looks nice, especially when visualizations will be on. I just added one, by the way, which shows the album cover when available. (Also I found a bug in Chrome while implementing this :P)

hehe, looking nice!
Thanks!

This uses cutting-edge technologies and it's a work in progress, so I only support a few browsers for now, like the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari. It's still a work in progress to make it support everything (although you will understand it will obviously not be supported in Lynx).

And I'll add those artists soon! That and the rest of your music.

Append this to the css too :
Code: [Select]
#player, #songs {
background: linear-gradient(to bottom, rgba(255,255,255,0.2) 0%,rgba(255,255,255,0) 100%); /* F*** the other browsers */
}

#credits {
background: linear-gradient(to right, rgba(255,255,255,0.2) 0%,rgba(255,255,255,0) 100%); /* F*** the other browsers */
}

And you could put credits in the player div to avoid the two gradients overlapping! ;)

On a side note, is there a radio stream for each playlist?

You can add them and there should be a directory containing all of them somewhere >.> if not they are in the archives.
