Yeah it's quite expensive indeed if you want decent features, altough it's much cheaper than Cubase, Acid or Reason, which costs over $400-800 IIRC. I actually got the trial version but it's ridiculously hard to learn. Given that anything harder than TI-BASIC makes me lose patience it will probably take months, even one year before I finally get the grasp of FL Studio. I feel a bit bad for not being able to use such program when it has the best feature/reliability:cost ratio
I am surprised there are still many people who use MTV Music Generator though. heck, most people who still do use the first one released in North America (second one in Europe) in 1999. I own another forum besides Omnimaga which is just MTVMG users and there's 179 members and 701 songs uploaded at the moment, much better than the shit people uploaded on their personal websites when these softwares came out then Youtube.

In 2002 it was one of the very rare MTVMG song to not use pre-made melodies/drum loops. Back then, most tracks used pre-made melodies and drum loops and it was the standard among MTVMG users. It stayed like this until I opened TIMGUL forums last year and if you listen to my song "Dark Abyss", "Grooving To The Melody (Trance Remix)" or "Angels In The Stars" this is the standard in the small community now. I must say, though, that making music using a 1999 software is starting to make me feel a bit old skool, though
