This is how I make most of my songs (first 22 minutes footage of a making of):

sound isn't too good and there's parts where it seems to idle but that's because it was quite hard to keep such long video at decent quality and still under 50 MB. The lag is caused by my computer taking lot of ressources sometimes for no reason.

That's... different.
You have skill though.

I personally use a program called Fruity Loops for the PC.
Definitely a way better program... but it costs in the hundreds.

Still, the fact you can do that with a PSX game is beyond impressive.

Yeah it's quite expensive indeed if you want decent features, altough it's much cheaper than Cubase, Acid or Reason, which costs over $400-800 IIRC. I actually got the trial version but it's ridiculously hard to learn. Given that anything harder than TI-BASIC makes me lose patience it will probably take months, even one year before I finally get the grasp of FL Studio. I feel a bit bad for not being able to use such program when it has the best feature/reliability:cost ratio

I am surprised there are still many people who use MTV Music Generator though. heck, most people who still do use the first one released in North America (second one in Europe) in 1999. I own another forum besides Omnimaga which is just MTVMG users and there's 179 members and 701 songs uploaded at the moment, much better than the shit people uploaded on their personal websites when these softwares came out then Youtube. http://www.mtv-music-generator.com/ This track is an example: http://www.mtv-music-generator.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1011.0;attach=582 or if you want a dance track here's an example: http://www.mtv-music-generator.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=290.0;attach=178

I mean, if you go in Omnimaga downloads section, listen to my song called Final Battle. In 2002 it was one of the very rare MTVMG song to not use pre-made melodies/drum loops. Back then, most tracks used pre-made melodies and drum loops and it was the standard among MTVMG users. It stayed like this until I opened TIMGUL forums last year and if you listen to my song "Dark Abyss", "Grooving To The Melody (Trance Remix)" or "Angels In The Stars" this is the standard in the small community now. I must say, though, that making music using a 1999 software is starting to make me feel a bit old skool, though XD.
