Just to ask, what are the main differences between the GT, GTS, and  GTX versions of the graphics card (other than price)?

Sigh, too bad I can't get anything from Newegg cheap. I live in California, y'know...and so does Newegg...stupid sales tax... :(sad.gif

the order of L33Tness goes from best to worst GTX, GTS, GT, GS. (as far as nvidia cards go anyways) It's still cheap even with sales tax. :Ptongue.gif Cheaper than getting it from the other stores with sales tax so... what the heck are you talking about again? Also, I would prefer to live in a place with sales tax. It's great to have no tax when you're a kid, but as soon as you start having income tax... Holy fscking christ! Stupid Oregon... Apparently, newegg is also in TN, not just CA.

Offtopic, but I think sales tax or some kind of consumption tax should be the ONLY tax. :Ptongue.gif That way you are taxed on how much you consume, not how much money you make, etc. Tax people on how much they take from society, not on how much they give!

EDIT: oh, it's not just adding to the price, there is a huge performance increase between the levels. Go to gpureview.com and play with the compare cards section for awhile if you're interested.

well, I would say, get started with that, and see if you like it. I am fine with the on board audio on my machines. Also, being that the quality is too important, save some money.

Also, my laptop is here, and I am posting from it right now.

onboard audio on the nforce 680i boards seems to be pretty good. It sounds fine with my cheap-ish $40 2.1 speakers at any rate. It *does* support 7.1, but if you want an uber surround sound system, you're better off getting a sb audigy or something.

EDIT: oh, one thing that made me sad, you know how they fixed no HDR and AA at the same time with nvidia cards on the g80 series? Well, apparently it's only fixed for 64-bit windows xp. Not vista. :/confused.gif So... I guess ATI still has that advantage, meh.

..this is rediculous, i got everything installed after like 4 hours of work, except for the harddrives. i cant figure out how they're supposed to go in at all. spengo, you wouldnt be able to give me any pointers about how to go about that would you? im going to check thier website, but i dont expect to find much, thier friggen instructions were terrible. or is the problem that the old hdd's dont work with this newer case? any help would be appreciated as i am totally POed at the hdd support on this case.

liazon: unfortunately not. I have a 600MHz overclock (at 2.7GHz) and it almost reaches 60 under load. I'd really like to see the temps stay under 50. I'm saving up in hopes of going liquid though, then I can REALLY cook things. =D

dinho: Uh, all hdd's should work with any case, they don't have different sizes. (except the laptop ones) Generally tool-less hdd bays work with metal rails - they have a little poinked in things that you stick in the screw holes of the hdd and then you just.. slide it in the cage. My case took me about 2-30 minutes or so. I really <3 this case - flip down sides make for the easiest mobo install I've ever done. The lower hdd cage turns and moves out so you can get to the hdd's really easily. My case's instructions were about as lengthy as a hotel brochure so they were utterly useless as well, but luckily I was able to figure out everything by myself - it was pretty straighforward. FRIGGIN' HUGE so lots of room inside too, fits my 8800GTS with room to spare and I read reviews that said the even huger GTX fits okay. My only real complaints with this case is there is no way to control the fans, they just run at max speed all the time (loud! will have to get a fan controller) and that it's farking heavy. Really good build quality and the hugeness make for heavy cases I suppose.

I took pics! They are still on the camera though. :(sad.gif
