I have the Windows7Ultimate 64bit installed on my computer, and it's...... Horrible. It crashes very often (got the 'blue screen of death more than 20 times in a year) and is incompatible with many applications (I had to google for hours to find a z80 assembler thatr worked on it). So I voted for windowsXP: my previous OS that has never crashed on my pc
My projects
 - The Lost Survivors (Unreal Engine) ACTIVE [GameCommandoSquad main project]
 - Oxo, with single-calc multiplayer and AI (axe) RELEASED (screenshot) (topic)
 - An android version of oxo (java)  ACTIVE
 - A 3D collision detection library (axe) RELEASED! (topic)(screenshot)(more recent screenshot)(screenshot of it being used in a tilemapper)
Spoiler For inactive:
- A first person shooter with a polygon-based 3d engine. (z80, will probably be recoded in axe using GLib) ON HOLD (screenshot)
 - A java MORPG. (pc) DEEP COMA(read more)(screenshot)
 - a minecraft game in axe DEAD (source code available)
 - a 3D racing game (axe) ON HOLD (outdated screenshot of asm version)

Hum, there are a lot of Windows 7-compatible Assemblers (Brass with DCS SDK, Spasm, TASM, ...).

Which one do you use?

Sorry, but no OS is as awesome as WFRNGOS.

I saw somewhere that 74% of computers are running XP. I wonder if that includes computers with dual boot OS's.

I doubt it. Very few people actually use Linux (or *nix if you prefer) for personal computers. The only Unix derived OS with any significant market share is Mac OS.

I use Linux with KDE on my laptop. Not just five minutes a day, but all the time. I only switch over to Windows if I want to play Minecraft.

I prefer FreeBSD for servers btw.

Welcome to omni Kottizen. What version of linux with KDE?

Don't they have a linux version of minecraft? I thought I saw it on their site

I hear that FreeBSD and linux are the best for servers. with BSD possibly being a little better

I think I'l dual(multi) boot my laptop with 7 64bit and linux mint 11(possibly others also)

@ben_g: Really? I'm running Windows 7 home premium 64bit on my desktop and laptop and I have never had a blue screen and it rarely ever freezes. I find that quite strange. XP wasn't nearly this stable for me.

@ruler: The Linux version of minecraft doesn't work well on older graphics cards (it will crash about a minute in for me).

I happy that I don't have to worry about that having a nicely built computer to handle things like that.

I haveNn't gotten a BSOD since Windows 98 O.O (excluding scanning in XP at boot time once because I did not shut down properly)

I personally had more crashes in XP than  7.

I hate when people do that. X.x Once your computer crashes and requires a reformat, you need to get a new OS or buy Windows. X.x In one occasion, my bro did not get such CD when buying a computer. Now apparently we can create an image or something on a DVD, though, from our computer, so they don't give such CDs anymore.

I personally don't know how to do it in 7 but I have been told it was very straight forward.

I'll make sure my parents back up their 7 comp. I'd "hate" to have to load linux on it. They probably wouldn't et me anyways. They're kind of scared of nonWindows OS's.

I really like Win 7 x64.  In fact, I'm using it right now.
