Hmm, it appears my school is offering Vista for free too. o.o

I should really read my school email more often.

Anywho, I heard counter-strike still works at least so off I go into the wild blue yonder. I shall see if this Vista thing is worth it (since it's free lol!). If it sucks, I shall simply use teh backup to load XP pro again.

AHAHAHAHHAHAHA OWN3D! F'IN OWNED!! I pwned cisco clean access. apparently it doesn't support vista yet so i practiced my 1337 h4xx0r skillz (well not really 1337... but this definitely deserves a level up I think) to get onto the internets.

hmm, vista is annoying me. It makes cs:s lag on some maps. alivemetal and dust are almost unplayable.

(not dust2 thankfully) Methinks I'm going to go back to XP pro. I want to do a clean install too, so I'll have to find somethin' to back up all my crap, hehe.

Doesen't Vista, though, let you turn off the 3D effects before running some games so that it won't screw around with the performance of the game, too?

ah but see, I looked around for solutions and it seems that vista is optimised for dx10 and not quite so optimised for dx9. Because of this some dx9 games don't run as well.

Besides, I highly doubt my computer would have any trouble running the fairly simple 3D effects of vista as well as a game.

Yep, you will have to wait until the games say, "Vista Edition" like Halo 2, etc. to make full use of Direct X 10.

I tried it, it's like 2fps.
