I'm personally hoping that it's real :)

Um, um um, um, hi! Um, I hope it's real because it sounds like it could have some interesting features! Also, if anybody has use Graph3 and they also have a TI-89t (or some other awesome TI calc that graphs 3D), you were probably surprised by how much faster the Z80 version of 3D graphing and rotating is... Maybe TI will include 3D graphing on the Z80 calcs at some point?

As said on IRC, I installed it on my calc and it's real. However it's OS 2.71MP, not 2.71.

I am gonna test it (mostly making sure DCS and Axe still works fine and try some games) then I'm gonna post a news with the link. I think I'm not going to restrain myself from posting a public download link after I saw this Nspire ad.

Maybe it's just a beta OS, though. (which might explain why it was removed)

There's no need for him to retouch the photo. It's trivial to write a program that displays whatever you want.
"No tools will make a man a skilled workman, or master of defense, nor be of any use to him who has not learned how to handle them, and has never bestowed any attention upon them. . . . Yes, [] the tools which would teach men their own use would be beyond price."—Plato's The Republic, circa 380 BC

Oh, you've got to be joking.

Still, that ad is kind of funny, in a sad sort of way.

I hope TI isn't planning on stopping making z80 calculators.
My website: Currently boring.

Projects:
Axe Interpreter
   > Core: Done
   > Memory: Need write code to add constants.
   > Graphics: Rewritten.  Needs to integrate sprites with constants.
   > IO: GetKey done.  Need to add mostly homescreen IO stuff.
Croquette:
   > Stomping bugs
   > Internet version: On hold until I can make my website less boring/broken.

Nice try! ;D

But...
DJ, it seems you have been tricked, or that you're trying to trick us.

868 138 bytes is the size of the original 2.55MP OS
You told me the 2.71MP OS was 868 115 bytes.

The size is just wrong, 23 bytes too small.
It's the exact size you get by resigning the 2.55MP OS with RabbitSign.

Official OSes end with ":00000001FF   -- CONVERT 2.6 -- \n0x1A".
RabbitSigned OSes just end with ":00000001FF", which is exactly 23 bytes smaller.

There is no way TI would have started to use RabbitSign with the 0x0A key we've hacked. :P

That OS is probably just a 2.55MP OS with its version & welcome strings modified, and then resigned with RabbitSign.

Strangely, nobody has sent it me up to now, although I'm usually sent important things.

I can release the 3.00MP OS for the TI-84+ immediatly if you want :P

Weird. Could it be that some parts were optimized or bugs fixed? Because I know a bunch of people complained about the slowness of MathPrint and graphing before.

This OS seems terribly unstable. And TI still hasn't fixed the Err:Version or Err:Bad Address so I'll have to whip those up. I don't really see what they added though.

Critor: That part of the OS file doesn't actually do anything does it? Is it possible that they just left it out?
