Unfortunately, I can't get on the computer for the rest of the night :/ you could probably ask thepenguin, though.

You're not posting from a "computer" currently?...

See the icon next to his post's title. He's using his phone :)

And /me wants a copy too (even though I don't actually have a TI-84 Plus ;D).

And really, is there 3D graphing built in? But then I wonder what else TI did with it this time. The first MPs were bad enough.

Remember that TI's z80 engineer(s) is(are) currenty supposed to work on the 2.56MP OS, the port of the 2.55MP 84+ OS for the Nspire 84+SE emulator. It will be included in the Nspire 3.0 OS from next week.

I don't think there are enough z80 engineers left by TI to work on the 2.55MP -> 2.56MP porting and on new 84+ OSes at the same time (with such a high version number moreover).

So maybe it was the one uncorrupted developer who did it in his/her spare time, and then had to pull it down because 2.56MP isn't done yet? Maybe they have to wait to put it up until after 2.56MP? Who knows? Maybe someone tried to check it in for review and accidentally uploaded it to the site instead.

hmm, this whole thing is a little weird...
regardless of what happens, though, i'm sticking with 2.43. there's just too high a risk of incompatibilities and bugs etc

I know that TI did that weird thing where they would publish a page and take it down later.  There is a possibility that they did that stunt again.

Edit: If you want to see if the new OS is currently hosted on TI's website (It was not at the time I posted this.) :

I suppose it could be like OS 0.41- a beta OS that was not supposed to be actually posted and then quickly taken down.

Somehow I doubt TI would do that again though.

The userbars in my sig are links embedded links.

And in addition to calculator (and Python!) stuff, I mod Civilization 4 (frequently with Python).

I know that TI did that weird thing with the CX where they would publish a page and take it down a few minutes later.  There is a possibility that they did that stunt again.

Nah it was the TI-84 Pocket.Fr and the page remained up for a few days. TI-BANK announced it then when I checked the next day the 84 Pocket link was gone from TI site. Same when they announced that the 84+SE was getting discontinued.

I think I'll e-mail ThePenguin77 and Sir in case they don't check their PM. If the OS is real I'll post a news about it. I would prefer to make sure it exists first, though, because in the past someone on another english news site complained that Omni only post rumors that ends up being false and almost no facts.

I'll test this out and get back to you guys. Best case scenario, it's awesome. Worst case scenario, Graviter gets seriously delayed :P

Actually, the true worst case is that your calc would be bricked :)

I doubt that would happen, though.

Did somebody post a download link to the 8xu?

Good point.  I guess you could always buy a new calc, if things go wrong.
